Chuwi Will Release A 12-Inch Dual Boot Tablet Next Month

We haven't exactly seen that many tablets being released this year, at least not compared to previous years. Tablet sales are not booming at the moment, and there are a number of reasons why. 5.5-inch smartphones have become a standard these days, and we've also seen quite a few phablets being released as well. This might actually be one of the most important factors why tablets are not selling as well as they used to.

That being said, we're still seeing some rather interesting tablet devices being released, and we're here to talk about one such device, the Chuwi Hi12. Chuwi is a China-based company many of you have probably never heard of, but they have released quite a few tablets thus far, like the Chuwi DX1 and Hi8. The Chuwi Hi12 is their upcoming device which will arrive next month, and it's quite an interesting product at that. Chuwi will first release the Windows 10 variant of this tablet, and soon after that the dual boot (Windows 10 + Android 5.1 Lollipop) model will follow. Our source at the company was kind enough to provide spec information and images of this tablet, so let's check out what it has to offer.

The Chuwi Hi12 will feature a 12-inch 2160 x 1440 display (3:2 aspect ratio) along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card). Intel's X5 Cherry Trail Z8300 processor (max clock speed 1.84GHz) will fuel this tablet, and Intel's 8th generation graphics chip will be included as well. The 11,000mAh battery will be included in this package as well, and you'll find a 5-megapixel shooter on the back of the device. The 2-megapixel snapper will be placed up front, and the tablet will be available in Champagne Gold and Space Gray color options.

That is pretty much it as far as specs go, there are a couple of images available in the gallery down below for you to check out. Now, we still don't know how much will this tablet cost, but you can expect it to sport a significantly lower price tag than its competitors. There you have it, as soon as Chuwi unveils this tablet, we'll let you know, stay tuned for that.

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 release date in India confirmed: Invites sent out for 7 January event

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 release date in India confirmed: Invites sent out for 7 January event

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 release date in India confirmed: Invites sent out for 7 January eventMicrosoft

After unveiling the Surface Pro 4 in the US in October, Microsoft has finally decided to bring its mighty Windows 10-powered tablet to India. Microsoft has sent out official invites to the media informing of a launch event in New Delhi on 7 January, 2016. The invite is captioned "Start fresh on a brand new surface", strongly hinting towards the Surface Pro 4, BGR reports.

With the launch of Surface Pro 4 in India, Microsoft is introducing the first Surface tablet in the country. The launch isn't entirely surprising as the company's CEO Satya Nadella in November had revealed plans to launch the Surface Pro 4 in India in January 2016.

The pricing of the Surface Pro 4 in India is still a mystery. Luckily, fans won't have to wait for long as the event unfolds next week. Given the US pricing of the tablet starts at $899, you can expect the tablet to cost well over Rs 50,000 in India.

When Microsoft unveiled the Surface Pro 4 at the Windows 10 Devices launch event in October, the high-end tablet was met with great admiration. At the event, Microsoft also launched the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL smartphones and a new Surface Book. Microsoft tablets have been a supreme hit among enterprise consumers and it remains to be seen if the Surface Pro 4 can ignite the same demand in India.

Except for the pricing, everything about the Surface Pro 4 is already out in the open. It is powered by Intel's sixth-generation Core M, Core i5 or Core i7 processors paired with RAM sizes ranging from 4GB to 16GB. There is an onboard storage capacity of 128GB in the base model as the high-end model gets 1TB storage.

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 features a 12.3-inch display with 2736x1824 pixels, 267ppi, PixelSense technology and 0.4mm Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It also has an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-snapper. There are four USB 3.0 ports, two 4K Mini Display ports, one Ethernet port and a fingerprint scanner.

The Surface Pro 4 is equipped with a next-gen Surface Pen with high-sensing technology and an eraser. The tablet runs Windows 10, taking advantage of all the features the OS has to offer.

Microsoft's Devices head Panos Panay unveiled the tablet saying it is 30% faster than Surface Pro 3 and 50% faster than MacBook Air.

Samsung Electronics : new Windows 10 tablet gets certified

If you're wondering as to Samsung has yet to release a Windows-powered tablet for a while now, rest assure. Around a couple of months ago, it was reported that Samsung is in the midst of developing a 12-inch tablet which will run Windows 10, and sure enough, fast-forward to the present, a tablet with the model number SM-W700 has been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance and Bluetooth SIG.

As far as hardware go, the 12-inch tablet features either a 2560 x 1600 or 3840 x 2400 pixel resolution display, and will be powered by a 13nm Intel Core M processor paired to 4GB of RAM. In addition, the device is equipped with an S Pen, which sounds par for the course for a device this size, with productivity being its key selling point. Of course, Samsung itself has not actually hinted anything as yet about a new Windows 10 tablet so when it will be released is anyone's guess. However, given that the device has been certified, its release may  end up being sooner than later.

New tablet 2016: the top six you'll be choosing from

You're thinking that 2016 is the year you're going to finally buy a tablet / upgrade the first version of the iPad you queued all night for then realised didn't do a lot - but you're horrendously stumped over what to buy.

The good news is that tablets are now getting to the point of being really, really useful things, with accessories and add-ons that turn it into a viable laptop replacement for some.

But which should you opt for? Even if you're a stalwart in the iPad camp / Android army, you're stuck with loads and loads of choices in 2016 - while none of the below are confirmed, we're almost certain these new tablets will be coming out over the next 12 months.

    Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet

Release date: May/Jun 2016Expected price: very high

There may not be many rumors circulating about the Xperia Z6 Tablet, but Sony's release cycle tends to be an easy one to predict and this is likely to be the firm's major slate offering of 2016.

Sony loves making its devices waterproof, so we fully expect it to continue that trend with the Z6 Tablet, while we're keeping our fingers crossed for a slightly more premium design and an interface whi ch is closer to stock Android.

The inclusion of a keyboard dock in the box of the Z4 Tablet was a handy addition, but it could do with behind more balanced - another area of improvement for 2016 then.

Sony usually launches its flagship tablet at MWC in Barcelona at the end of February, but we may have to wait a few months for it to actually hit shelves. We'll be reporting live from MWC 2016, so we'll bring you all the latest on what Sony (and everyone else) has to offer.

In short, expect the Xperia Z6 Tablet to have plenty of power, a great display and the ability to take a dip in the bath with you.

    iPad Air 3

    iPad Air 3

    Release date: March 2016Expected price: US$499 / £399 / AU$699

We're wondering where this tablet is - it was supposed to land at the tail end of 2015, but it never turned up.

The reasons are myriad: not wanting to distract from the iPad Pro, not being enough of an upgrade on the iPad Air 2, lack of interest in a new 9.7-inch tablet. Whatever it was, it's a shame the best tablet of 2014 wasn't improved upon.

What will we see next time? Well, very likely the same size screen, but a boost in the resolution to 4K isn't out of the cards. 3D Touch is rumoured to be on the way at some point, but not in 2016 as Apple looks to perfect the technology at a larger size.

So it'll probably be thinner, faster and have a nicer screen - and maybe even its own keyboard? Or that could take the shine off the iPad Pro 2...

    iPad Pro 2

    Release date: September 2016Expected price: At least US$799 / £679 / AU$1249

Oh, look, it's the iPad Pro 2 - the next generation of Apple's most interesting product of 2015. It's hard to say whether it's innovative or not, as on the one hand it's just a big iPad. On the other hand, it's a big iPad and that means you can do so much more iPad stuff on the iPad screen.

It's also got a stylus (Apple Pencil) and keyboard (Smart Keyboard) but these are hardly new things to add into the tablet experience.

Our guess would be that if Force Touch could be added into the mix, it would appear here first - there's not much more power that could be added in to improve things as the A9X chip is rather smart.

    Samsung Galaxy Tab S3

    Samsung Galaxy Tab S2

Release date: Jul/Aug 2016Expected price: very high

Samsung came close to equaling Apple's iPad Air 2 in 2015 with the Galaxy Tab S2, but it still didn't manage to provide the same level of class both on and off screen.

Apple's been top dog in the tablet world for several years now, but the pack is gaining and none more so than Samsung. The hope is then that 2016 could be the year it finally matches its Cupertino rival with an stellar Android slate.

There's been talk of a Samsung Galaxy Tab Edge which could sport a similar curved display to the Galaxy S6 Edge which would certainly give the firm's next flagship a futuristic look.

Whatever the tablet is finally named, a high resolution display is guaranteed, as is a decent slug of power. If Samsung can address the design while retaining the microSD port then the Tab S3 will be something to get very excited about.

    iPad Mini 5

Release date: Maybe October, but it might not even be next year.Expected price: It's going to be a lot, but not as much as the iPad Air 3.

Apple's miniature range of tablets came back with a bang this year. After the lacklustre iPad Mini 3, the iPad Mini 4 brought the range back up to date with some significant updates.

It wasn't clear why Apple decided to briefly mention it and then not give us a full look at the tablet though. For that reason we're not sure if Apple will even decide to update to the iPad Mini 5 next year.

If it does, we'd expect some big updates to the processor on the iPad Mini 5. The iPad Mini 4 having an A8 chipset was a bit of a letdown so we'd expect at least the A9X chipset if not the latest.

Then it'll also likely come with iOS 10 as well that we expect to see launch in July this year at WWDC. We'll have to wait and see if Apple sees fit to launch a new smaller slate in 2016 though.

    Microsoft Surface Pro 5

    Microsoft Surface Pro 4

Release date: October 2016, maybe.Expected price: High – the Surface Pro 4 didn't come very cheap.

Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 turned out to be one of the better tablets we saw in 2015 and took one step closer to becoming the laptop replacement it has always wanted to be.

With the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 though there's a lot of work to do still. The biggest issue is selling the Type Cover separately, we want Microsoft to bundle that in the box with it so when you get it out it's all ready and raring to go.

Battery also needs to be improved on the Surface Pro 5. When you're using this as a tablet and productivity is a focus, you need to have a stronger battery life than it currently offers.

But there's a lot right now and we think Microsoft may be able to make it perfect on the Surface Pro 5 with a little bit of work.

iPad Air 3 release date, price, specs and features: The latest buzz on Apple's next tablet

iPad Air 3 specs and features leaked: Is Apple set to deliver a surprise? Apple is reportedly working on the iPad Air 3, which according to some reports, would be unveiled in March next year.

The Internet is full of rumors about the specs of the iPad Air 3. It is learned that Apple's new tablet would not come with a pressure-sensitive 3D Touch display because the tech giant is facing problems with the supply chain for the components.

Analyst Kuo said that some major difficulties have been faced by Apple and the situation is described as "one of the most severe production bottlenecks in iPhone 6s supply chain", which is less than 30 percent utilization. Regarding iPad Air 3's price, some reports claimed that the company has decided to freeze the price otherwise the new device won't find many takers.

The decision seems logical too as the market is full of tablets of all kinds and the buyers are willing to buy the device with the most affordable price.

It is likely that in the iPad Air 3, Apple would ditch the 16GB storage variant, which is slammed by fans and reviewers of the Cupertino-based firm.

It is still uncertain if Apple would increase the display size of the iPad Air 3 or not, but the company may increase the resolution to 2,334 x 3,112 pixels, from 1,536 x 2,048 pixels. It is rumored that the new device will sport either A9 or A9X processor.

It is notable that the A9X processor is used on the iPad Pro, which was released recently. The cameras are unlikely to receive an upgrade because the iPad Pro has also not got upgraded cameras. But Apple will definitely make some improvements in the design of iPad Air 3.

ALK’s partner, Torii, submits registration application for the cedar SLIT-tablet in Japan

    Copenhagen, 2015-12-25 09:00 CET (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --

ALK (ALKB:DC / OMX: ALK B / AKABY / AKBLF) today announced that its partner, Torii, has submitted a New Drug Application in Japan for the Japanese cedar pollen sublingual allergy immunotherapy tablet for the indication of allergic rhinitis (hay fever).

ALK's partner for Japan, Torii Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., has submitted a registration application – a New Drug Application (NDA) – to the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW), for the Japanese cedar pollen sublingual allergy immunotherapy tablet (SLIT-tablet).

Jens Bager, ALK's President and CEO, said: "This regulatory submission in Japan adds further momentum to our strategy of transforming ALK from a largely European company to one with global reach. We await the outcome of the regulatory review process with interest and are confident that, if approved, this product will prove a valuable new treatment option to allergy doctors and patients in Japan."

Japan is the world's second largest market for allergy medicine after the USA. An estimated 25-35 million people suffer from allergy caused by Japanese cedar tree pollen or house dust mites. Japan has a higher level of diagnosed allergic rhinitis than anywhere in the world. Nevertheless, allergy immunotherapy is not yet widely used.

"Subject to approval, the Japanese cedar SLIT-tablet could reach the market in Japan in 2017 meaning that Torii can offer innovative products against the two most common allergies in Japan to patients whose allergy symptoms are not well-controlled despite the use of standard symptom-relieving medications," said Jens Bager.

ALK's partnership with Torii covers the development, registration and commercialisation of the Japanese cedar SLIT-tablet and a SLIT-tablet against house dust mite (HDM) allergy, which was launched earlier this month under the name MITICURE™. It also includes collaboration on an HDM injection-based immunotherapy product and HDM diagnostic product which have recently been approved for marketing by the authorities.

FDA approves first chewable extended-release tablet, creating new drug delivery partnership opportunity

Chewing extended-release medications is typically dangerous because it can cause "dose dumping," resulting in excessive concentrations of the drug in the body, or even toxicity.

Monmouth Junction, NJ's Tris Pharma overcame these challenges, earning the first-ever FDA approval for a chewable extended-release tablet. The company said it proved the tablet, dubbed ChewableXR, can release drugs consistently whether swallowed or chewed. The milestone enables the company to market the tablets as a platform technology to third-party partners; it is not intended to treat any specific therapeutic area.

ChewableXR is the company's fourth drug delivery offering under its OralXR controlled release technology. Delivery occurs via millions of small (about 100 microns) particles that coat the drug. Tris Pharma says they are highly flexible and durable, enabling them to withstand the rigors of chewing.

The drug can be released over a period of up to 24 hours because the coating protects the drug, limiting bodily absorption until the active ingredient reaches the stomach. In addition, according to the company's website, the coating of microparticles particles provides taste-masking, and excipients can be added to improve taste.

It's not difficult to imagine the applications of ChewableXR toward pediatric medications. Elderly patients sometimes have difficulty swallowing as well.

"Tris has a solid track record of breaking new ground within the drug delivery technology space including the first ever 24-hour extended-release oral liquid and now the first ever extended-release chewable tablet," said Ketan Mehta, the CEO of the 400-person company. "The 2015 calendar year has been a highly productive year with three NDA approvals, all on their PDUFA dates, bringing a total of 7 NDA approvals in the past 6 years."

The wait for the first pharma player to deploy ChewableXR begins. Tris Pharma lists several partners on its website related to its other drug delivery platforms, including Pfizer ($PFE), Actavis, Perrigo ($PRGO) and Vernalis.

Nvidia Shield Tablet 2 will still run on Android, this time using the updated 5.1 Lollipop version. According to PC Advisor UK, this new tablet from Nvidia is expected to pack Nvidia's latest Tegra X1 processor, which offers better performance and higher quality graphics any gamer will enjoy. In addition, Nvidia Shield Tablet 2 offers 10 hours of video viewing and web browsing before the battery needs to be charged.

For gaming use, the battery should be charged after 5 hours . The Tegra X1 chip is quad-core and runs at 2.2 GHz and 2 GB of RAM. It is the same processor used on the latest Nvidia Shield Android TV device.

The first Nvidia Shield Tablet used Tegra K1 SoC processor and came with an 8 inch display screen with 1920 x 1200 resolution that offered users the ability to output 4K resolution to TVs. Nvidia Shield Tablet 2 retains this resolution. It will also feature a 5- mega pixel camera both at the front and at the rear of the device. Also in front are two front-facing speakers.

A micro- USB, microSD and mini HDMI ports can be found on its side. Reports say it will be lighter in weight at 13.1 oz. It may be heavier than Nexus 7, but only by 3 oz., and its extra screen space and extra internal thermal shield that keeps the device cool, more than make up for the difference in weight. Another feature at the back of each unit is a slip-resistant surface, a step Nvidia has taken to further protect the device.

With a suggested retail price of US$ 299 (wifi version), the Nvidia Shield Tablet 2 is pretty much affordable given all the improvements on power and features the tablet offers.

iPad Air 3: What to expect from Apple?

The iPad Air 3 is expected in the relatively early months of 2016, and there is already a significant amount of information seeping out about this forthcoming tablet. But the latest reports suggest that Apple will not include the pressure-sensitive 3D Touch display that debuted in the iPhone 6S.

    iPad Air 3

Kuo speaks on iPad Air 3

According to the by now renowned KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Ku, Apple will not be utilizing the 3D Touch system in the forthcoming iPad Air 3. Kuo has particularly cited problems with the supply chain for 3D Touch components, which ensures that it is logistically impossible for Apple to include this technology in this generation of the iPad Air series. It is possible that Apple will reassess the situation in future iPad releases.

Kuo in fact suggests that 3D Touch is causing the Apple supply chain major difficulties, going as far as to describe the situation as "one of the most severe production bottlenecks in iPhone 6s supply chain". This has played a major role in the Apple supply chain being currently below 30 percent utilization according to reports, and it is clear that this is a situation that Apple needs to address.

The high-end iPad Pro currently doesn't feature 3D Touch, and it seems unlikely that this feature will now see the light of day in 2016. Rumors are abound that the iPad Air 3 will launch in the first quarter of 2016, with some date in March looking to be a likelihood.

No-one is quite sure what to expect from the iPad in terms of specifications, but there have been a few specific specs linked with the device ahead of its release. The first of these is that the iPad Air 3 could be armed with an A9X processor. Apple will be looking to beef up the performance of the iPad Air series when the iPad Air 3 launches, even though the previous tablet was certainly both a commercial and critical success for the corporation.

With camera technology becoming increasingly important in the consumer electronics niche, it is also predicted that the next generation iPad Air 3 will feature an eight-megapixel rear camera. Tablets are never exactly the ideal devices with which to take photographs, but it seems that Apple wants the iPad Air 3 snapper to be at least as good as the one currently included in the iPhone 6S.

    Price

The general consensus of market analysts is that Apple will freeze the price of the iPad Air 3 when it is released next year. This is the definitive tablet in the marketplace, but considering the extent to which the niche has been stalling, the iPad Air 3 isn't guaranteed the sort of success required To enable Apple to be aggressive with pricing.

    Storage

One of the possible improvements that Apple could make with the iPad Air 3 is to offer significantly more storage. Indeed, many critics and fans of the series have suggested that the existing 16GB set aside for storing information on the tablet is pretty lame. Applications and operating system requirements are becoming increasingly demanding with the iPad range, and a base requirement of the 32GB would seem to be a sensible shift when the iPad Air 3 releases.

    Specs

Specifications for the iPad Air 3 are certainly very much at the speculation stage, but several have emerged from the rumor mill that seem to be plausible. Perhaps the most interesting of these relates to the display included in the iPad Air 3, with many analysts suggesting that we will see Apple introduce a 4K screen resolution of 2,334 x 3,112 pixels. This would represent a significant step forward from the 1,536 x 2,048 resolution of the iPad Air 2.

Apple has concentrated on producing devices with outstanding resolutions in recent releases, with the consumer electronics giant introducing both a 5K 27-inch iMac alongside a 21-inch 4K version. It seems that it is now ready to significantly improve the screen in the iPad Air 3 as well, getting on the board with the increasing prominence of 4K resolution in the general culture.

It is also suggested that the iPad Air 3 will be powered by Apple's latest A9 or A9X chipset, and between 2GB and 4GB of RAM, as Apple looks for significant improvements with the performance of the tablet.

Finally, the iPad air series has probably become particularly successful owing to the fact that its design is an iconic one for Apple. With this in mind, the corporation is continually looking to improve the design parameters of its devices, and it is believed that it will once again update the iPad range when the iPad Air 3 is released.

In particular, this will involve the iPad Air 3 unit being around 5mm thick, slimmer than any previous iPad tablets. But it is also suggested, in accordance with the iPhone 7, that the iPad Air 3 will be both water and dust resistant. This would potentially make the iPad Air 3 the second device that Apple has released, following the Apple Watch, to achieve an IP rating.

    Battery surprise

However, it has also been reported that the battery capacity in the iPad Air 3 will be reduced significantly from the 7,340mAh cell used in the iPad Air 2. While no clear sources have emerged for this particular murmuring, it would make sense if Apple is indeed intending to produce a slimmer tablet. Perhaps it will be possible for the corporation to achieve the same battery life as in the previous iteration via software savings, though.

One final suggestion about the iPad Air 3 is that Apple will wait to assess the success or otherwise of the iPad Pro before making a final decision on the release date of the iPad Air 3. Apple's tablet strategy has been aimed at revitalizing what was to some extent a stalling niche, and the iPad Pro is essential in this overarching approach.

Nonetheless, it seems that we could see a 4K iPad Air 3 emerge in Q1 2016, and from Apple's perspective this should hopefully encourage consumers to purchase the device in large numbers.

Apple iPad Air 3 release date nears: New tablet to launch in 2016 without 3D Touch

Apple iPad Air 3 release date nears: New tablet to launch in 2016 without 3D Touch

Apple iPad Air 3 release date nears: New tablet to launch in 2016 without 3D TouchApple INC

The Apple's iPad Pro was launched alongside iPad Mini 4 in September, giving fans a taste of "bigger is better" strategy it first started with the launch of iPhone 6 series. The iPad Pro is the largest tablet by Apple to date and also one of the most-anticipated gadgets of 2015.

With all the talk about Pro and Mini iPads, Apple missed a crucial upgrade to its iPad Air lineup this year. However, Apple has some big plans stored for its fans in 2016.

In a research note by KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is said to finally launch the long rumoured iPad Air 3 in the first half of 2016. There is no specific launch date for the iPad Air 2 successor but it could be launched alongside the rumoured 4-inch iPhone 6C and Apple Watch 2 in March 2016, 9to5Mac reports.

Details about the iPad Air 3 are scarce but Kuo forecasts the new tablet will come without 3D Touch, a feature that gauges different pressure levels to offer corresponding options seen in iPhone 6s series. The shortage in supply of 3D Touch components is the likely cause for the missing feature in iPad Air 3.

"While we think the 3D Touch supply chain produced more to avoid shortages in the early stages, slower end-product demand and improved back-end assembly yield have resulted in the current high inventory. As 1Q16 demand looks to slow on seasonality and competition from other brands' new models, we believe 3D Touch supply chain capacity utilization is currently lower than peak level of 30%, and that will last through 1Q16," Kuo writes, according to 9to5Mac.

Rumours about Apple iPad 3 have been circulating for a long time now. The tablet was originally expected to be launched in October this year but it clearly missed the date. Apple iPad Air 3 is expected to witness a makeover in terms of performance and design. The tablet might get thinner and feature an improved processor to succeed iPad Air 2.

Is Apple Inc. Losing the Tablet Space to Microsoft Corporation? (AAPL, MSFT)

    Popular Posts: Recent Posts:

Apple Inc. (AAPL) has long been thought of as the king of the tablet space. After all, it was responsible for popularizing the tablet with the release of the first iPad, and years later, the device remains an important source of revenue for the company.

aapl stock news Is Apple Inc. Losing the Tablet Space to Microsoft Corporation? (AAPL, MSFT)Yes, more than 60% of AAPL revenues still come from the iPhone, but AAPL investors can't afford to ignore the importance of the iPad, with roughly 10% of sales last fiscal year coming from that product line.

Interestingly, iPads were Apple's worst-performing product line in FY 2015, as net sales actually fell 23% year-over-year.

Believe it or not, Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) is partly to blame — and AAPL shareholders might have to get used to it.

    Surface Seizing Market Share

As consumer trends clearly shift towards e-commerce and away from brick-and-mortar retail, keeping tabs on shifts in e-commerce is increasingly important.

Over the past 12 months, that's an area where AAPL has been outperforming MSFT, especially when it comes to tablets.

According to 1010data.com, AAPL has the biggest market share in online tablet sales over that time period, with a 34% share. Next is MSFT with 19%, then Amazon.com (AMZN) with 11%, then Samsung (SSNLF) with 9%. No one else owns more than 6%.

Interestingly, MSFT has managed to remain competitive in the area despite its massive average selling price (ASP) of $844. That's three times the category average of $280, and more than double Apple's ASP of $392. Amazon boasts an ASP of just $150 … but then again, Amazon has resorted to selling tablets in six-packs, so perhaps it's not strictly comparable to Microsoft and Apple.

As an owner of AAPL stock myself, I find a few things worrisome. First of all, it's disconcerting to see sales for the entire iPad category fall 23% year-over-year in 2015. It was understandable to see that sort of decline back when the iPhone was cannibalizing sales of the iPod, but there's no such obvious cannibalization going on with the iPad nowadays.

Secondly, October was the first month in 2015 in which MSFT overtook Apple in online tablet market share. The release of the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book drove huge gains for the category, and MSFT ended up taking 45% of the market to Apple's 17%.

Since sales obviously tend to heat up in the last three months of the year as consumers rush to get gifts for the holiday season, AAPL shareholders should cross their fingers and hope the one-month trend doesn't turn into a season-long one.

It sure doesn't hurt Microsoft's cause that its Surface tablets are all over NFL broadcasts, either. Microsoft has had an exclusive deal with the NFL for a few years now to prominently feature its tablets on the sidelines and in the studio, but it seems as if the Microsoft Surface is more visible than it has ever been.

While iPhones remain the core driver of AAPL stock, seeing Apple cede market share to its arch-nemesis Microsoft in an important segment like tablets still doesn't sit well.

It's time for Apple to step up its game.

Tablets are taking on more PC tasks, but ditching your laptop means

United States tech giant Apple is all set to launch its iPad Pro in India. Currently, Bloomberg provides consumer and enterprise apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple TV. The only thing we saw from Apple's tablet factory is the "iPad Pro", which is probably why some people already lost hope that an "iPad Air 3" will show up before this year ends.

The MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to be a major upgrade for Apple's line of laptops but up to this point no specific release date has been announced.

DigiTimes adds that Microsoft has not confirmed anything on orders, shipments, etc. A visit to the Microsoft Store in Los Angeles reveals that Microsoft does have the Intel Core i5 versions of the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book, but the i7 versions are available in very limited quantities. This promises 1.8 times the performance that of the existing second-generation 64-bit A8X chip, which runs on the iPad Air 2.

Bloomberg has been providing business and financial news and information to Apple customers ever since the first iPhone and iPad were released.

The Pixelmator Team has updated its award winning image editing app with iPad Pro and Apple Pencil support.

Apple made a decision to delay the launch of the iPad Air 3 because it did not want to affect the sales of the iPad Pro by releasing the high-end iPad Air 3 in quick succession which might pose a competition to the former. The resolution of both devices is bright and sharp, you won't help but will notice that Pixel C is slightly sharper than iPad Pro.

Android Marshmallow 6.0 does not sport as many new features, but it does includes an improved version of its digital assistant, Google Now. For those of you who've had a less-than-perfect experience, we're sorry for any frustration this has caused. The tablet also comes with the detachable keyboard - the Smart Keyboard which can fold up to become the iPad Pro cover. In comparison, the iPad Pro does promise a better battery life while using many other features simultaneously, but coming to the more powerful silicon available on the Pro 4, Microsoft seems to have pulled off something quite commendable for now. The iPad Pro will sip its juice from a 10,307mAh battery and is ready to run the new iOS 9.2 update.

Google eyes split-screen feature for Android tablets

The next version of Android may offer a split-screen mode for tablets.

    Josh Miller/CNET

Google aims to keep pace with Microsoft and Apple by adding a way for Android tablet users to view and work with two apps side-by-side.

A pair of Google staffers spilled the beans in a Reddit discussion on Thursday, teasing that a split screen is in the works for next year's major upgrade to Android to version 7.0. Since each new version launches around October or November, that means Android users may have to wait almost a year before the feature is available.

"We're working hard on a range of enhancements for Android in this form factor," Android and Chrome UX director Glen Murphy said, referring to Google's new Pixel C tablet equipped with a 10.2-inch screen. A "multiwindow" capability, he said, is something "we've been spending a lot of time on -- hopefully we can share more about this soon."

Andrew Bowers, Google's director of product management for consumer hardware, revealed more specifics. He told the Reddit audien ce that "we're working on lots of things right now for N" -- referring to the next major release of Android -- "that, of course, we wish we had, you know, yesterday. But we'd spoil the surprise of N if we shared all of them. Split screen is in the works!"

With tablet sales dwindling, Google and other manufacturers have been looking for ways to boost demand. One tack they're taking is to make the devices function more like laptops via attachable keyboards and other features that can help users accomplish workday tasks. By allowing multitasking, split screen lets a tablet better emulate the experience of a PC. It's something that Microsoft and Apple already offer, so Google is playing catchup in bringing the option to Android tablets.

Split screen has been available on Windows tablets via a feature called Snap Assist since Windows 8 debuted in 2012. Users can open one app and then snap a second app onto the screen, viewing them both at the same time. Windows 10 enhanced th e feature by adding the ability to snap up to four apps on the screen at the same time.

Apple got into the split-screen game with the release of its iOS 9 software in September. Displaying two apps together, the Split View feature is available for this year's iPad Pro and the iPad Mini 4 as well as last year's iPad Air 2. Another, more limited feature, dubbed Slide Over, supports a wider range of iPads, but the second app opens in a small right pane with no option to resize it. The first app also gets dimmed out, so you can only work with the second app.

Google usually reveals tidbits about the next version of Android at its I/O conference in May or June, so we might get to see the split-view feature in action at that point if it becomes a reality.

Google did not immediately respond to CNET's request for comment.

Galaxy Note 4 Marshmallow update: What we know so far

Galaxy Note 4 Marshmallow updateThe Galaxy Note 4 was recently confirmed to receive the much awaited Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Samsung has been working hard to push out the Marshmallow update to as many capable devices as it can. While the company is trying hard, details are a little vague two months after the release of the Marshmallow update.

The Marshmallow update is still rare to spot in the real world. Two months after its release, it's still on only 0.5% Android devices. A majority of these devices are Nexus phones and tablets, with a miniscule number of devices from LG, Motorola, HTC and Samsung. The slightly worrying part is that while the smaller OEMs – Motorola, HTC have laid out their Marshmallow rollout schedule, Samsung remains quiet.

Galaxy Note 4 Marshmallow update rolling out

Samsung may not have revealed any actual rollout schedule, but the company remains hopeful to push the Marshmallow update to the Galaxy S6 and its variants, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S5 and its variants, Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Edge. Some rumours also suggest that the Galaxy A8 will also form a part of the first wave of Galaxy Marshmallow update.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Marshmallow update

Regardless of Samsung's plans, it's not difficult to claim that the Galaxy Note 4 will be updated to Marshmallow. While Samsung may not have a fast rollout history, the company has been working hard to make the rollouts faster since the Lollipop update. This continues to be true this year as well, with some countries in Europe receiving the Galaxy Note 4 Marshmallow update already.

Galaxy Note 4 Marshmallow update confirmed for US

While Samsung has kept quiet about the Galaxy Note 4 Marshmallow update rollout, we know that the Note 4 Marshmallow update is headed to the States. If not Samsung, we have some information from carriers that confirm the update for the Galaxy Note 4.

    Galaxy Note 4 Marshmallow update

T-Mobile USA has released information about the Galaxy Note 4 Marshmallow update. According to the Uncarrier, the update is coming to its users. While T-Mo hasn't revealed any information about the actual rollout timeframe, we know that the update is currently in "Manufacturer Development" stage. This means that Samsung is still testing the update and optimizing it. It may still need beta-testing before it can be submitted to T-Mobile for further testing and optimization.

In other words, the Galaxy Note 4 Marshmallow update is at least a few weeks, if not months, away.

Other carriers have not revealed any Galaxy Note 4 Marshmallow update plans yet. Be that may as it is, it is very likely that they will release the Note 4 Marshmallow update as well. The Galaxy Note 4 is still a little over an year old and no carrier is going to drop support for it just like that.

Galaxy Note 4 Marshmallow plans missing elsewhere

While some European Galaxy Note 4 users are now rocking the Marshmallow update right now and US users keep waiting for more information about the rollout, Note 4 users in other markets still await for any actual information.

Carriers in other countries which often reveal their Android update plans – like Rogers and Telus Canada, Vodafone and Telstra in Australia and other carriers are still to include the Galaxy Note 4 in their Marshmallow update plans. As of right now, you are at best looking at a couple of months for the Marshmallow update for the Galaxy Note 4 in other markets.

Galaxy Note 4 Marshmallow update leaked

This is generally the hint that the update is in advanced stages, especially when it's a Samsung Galaxy update leak. The Galaxy Note 4 Marshmallow update has been leaked, this time due to a mistake by Samsung. Napidroid has revealed that the Galaxy Note 4 Marshmallow update has been pushed to one of their devices. While it may not be the final release, it's a real deal, claims Napidroid.

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 vs Apple iPad: Which Sold More?

Microsoft vs Apple Online Tablet SalesMicrosoft has been in a battle with Apple ever since the release of the Surface pro 4 and the Apple iPad Pro. The two tech companies made some entirely different devices and are currently battling for the head of the tablet market but which tablet is better? Let's let the numbers speak for themselves.

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 was launched earlier this year and it was a pretty striking success. The tablet is practically a laptop with its huge display but a lot of people have been complaining due to its pricing. It's not a light scheme to begin with, reaching at somewhere between $799 and $1,299 . The tricky thing about it is that you have to buy accessories like the Extended Keyboard Cover and the Surface Stylus in order to take full advantage of it. Similarly, the iPad Pro is the same deal: a rather expensive price tag with the requirement of getting accessories in order to take full use of it, but that hasn't stopped consumers. The question still remains: which one of these two devices is better and why?

Microsoft vs Apple Online Tablet Sales

Microsoft Surface Book vs Apple Macbook ProWe could go about comparing the Surface Pro 4 with the iPad Pro all day long but in truth the best indicator of success is in online tablet sales. Microsoft's tablet sales started to absolutely rise above all competition whereas Apple strongly plummeted around that period and continues to do so. Microsoft's tablets currently account for 45% of the Online Tablet Share whereas Apple hold 17%, just a little above Amazon's 10%. Thus you can clearly see which one consumers prefer, so the only question that remains to be answered is 'why'.

Check out the full study conducted on this matter linked below and let us know which one of these two tech companies you consider had a bigger success and why.

Why the Google Pixel C is the best new tablet that no one will buy

    What is the Pixel C?

The Pixel C is a 10.2-inch tablet that docks into an optional magnetic keyboard, which charges wirelessly when the USB Type-C power cable is connected. The display, which has the same aspect ratio as a sheet of A4 paper, has a resolution of 2,560 x 1,800 pixels, resulting in an acceptable but far from super-crisp 307 ppi.

PixelC 3 4back The Pixel C magnetic keyboard dock is definitely cool. / © Google

Despite looking and sounding an awful lot like the Chromebook Pixel, the Pixel C runs Android Marshmallow, not Chrome OS. It's powered by the ridiculously good Nvidia Tegra X1 chipset, the world's first mobile teraflop processor.

The Tegra X1 is an octa-core, 64-bit configuration with 256 GPU cores using Nvidia's Maxwell architecture - but the Pixel C only has the four high-performance ARM A57 cores. The whole thing is backed up by 3 GB of RAM and should be capable of rivaling consoles in terms of graphics processing power. It should also be incredibly power efficient.

androidpit tegra x1 graph The Tegra X1's graphical performance is far superior to any other tablet chipset. / © Nvidia Why will nobody buy it?

Because this is Google. Aside from the complete lack of advertising, Google is in the business of building reference devices for developers to showcase the very best of its Android platform, not making lots of money from hardware.

The Pixel C isn't marketed as a Nexus, but in many ways it is one. But it's also a hybrid Chromebook. It combines the look of one device with the experience of the other.

It's odd that Google hasn't drop an extra gigabyte of RAM on a piece of hardware with this much computing power, to take it up to 4 GB and make it even more beast-like. But again, this is Google.

androidpit chrome book pixel hi res The Chromebook has a definite target market, but who is the Pixel C for? / © Google So who is the Pixel C for?

Good question. With a hefty price of US$499 for the 32 GB version and US$599 for the 64 GB version, along with the optional US$149 magnetic keyboard, this is no cheap tablet. It seems to be all about high-end productivity in a highly mobile environment, but it's not targeted at the iPad Pro demographic of designers and artists.

The Pixel C has pretty insane specs, but it's not aimed at the Nvidia Shield's gamer crowd. Nor is it directed at the regular Android tablet crowd. In fact, it isn't really being targeted at anyone. In typical Google fashion, it just is. Like the early Nexus devices, it will have its die-hard fans, but Google won't go out of its way to promote it to any particular market or type of user.

This will mean the Pixel C, with its relatively high price, half-Chromebook, half-Nexus DNA, and no obvious reason for being, will likely languish, unnoticed, in the dark recesses of the Play Store. Perhaps it will sell enough to justify making a Pixel C2, or it might simply exist to answer Google's questions about transformer tablets.

On the other hand, the Pixel C might just herald something more significant for the future of convertible Nexus tablets and Chromebooks. Only time will tell how we look back on this device in years to come – as a harbinger of change or a one-off oddity – but suffice to say, it's highly unlikely to be noticed in its own time.

Which tablet is right for you? We help you decide between Android, iOS, Windows and Amazon

The tablet market is well and truly saturated. These days, you can find tablets for as little as £50 and all the way up to £700 and beyond.

Manufacturers deal with the hardware of their tablet, but the operating system is limited to several providers, notably Apple's iOS, Google's Android and Microsoft's Windows.

With so much to consider, it can be hard to figure out what's a true bargain and whether you should spend a little bit more for quality.

We guide you through the aspects you should think about when buying a tablet, so that you make the purchase that is right for your needs and your budget.

    Sony Xperia Z4

    The Hardware Size

Tablet sizes vary from about 7 inches wide to anything up to 12 inches.

The size of your tablet's screen can vary because of the bezel, which is the part between the screen and the edge of your device.

Smaller tablets are great if you're looking for something more portable and easy to fit in your bag. Larger tablets are more cumbersome and not as ideal for everyday travel usage.

    Screen

Make sure you get a good screen with anti-glare coating and good colour depth. If you're able to compare tablets in store, look out for how many fingerprint marks there are on the screens. IPS technology for multi-angle viewing is another good feature.

Screen resolution is important too, and if you mainly want to use your tablet for entertainment – playing games and watching films - it's worth paying more for a higher resolution and more detail.

The resolution is the number of pixels included in your display – the more, the better. As you may know with TVs, the best screen you can currently get at the moment is 4K (4096x2160) but this amount is yet to reach tablets.

You're more likely to find a HD (1920x1080) tablet, but probably no less than 1024x600 (known as WSVGA).

    Storage

Tablets usually have at least 8GB of storage – although some of this can be gobbled up by the pre-installed apps you can't remove.

Storage options usually increase by 'doubling': 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. Obviously, the more the storage, the more expensive the tablet generally becomes.

Many tablets give you the option of increasing the amount of storage cheaply by using a microSD card. Remember there are also cloud storage options such as BT Cloud, which allow you to save space and store photos, music and film online rather than directly on your tablet.

    Processors

Most tablets use at least a dual-core processor. A quad-core processor with 2GB RAM adds to the cost, but also means your device will handle games and play videos much more smoothly.

Weaker processors will still be able to run applications like any other tablet but they will struggle to run multiple applications.

There is also the problem of large games and apps that may suck up all the processor's power – weaker processors will struggle, meaning games can stutter and crash sometimes. Meanwhile, higher processors will be able to handle the extra work.

    Cameras

Cameras really aren't the standout feature on tablets and should not be considered replacements for smartphone cameras – which are generally better.

Most tablet cameras also lack flash functions too, making them unideal for low light photography.

Few tablet cameras are noteworthy, especially when used indoors in artificial light, so don't buy a tablet based on how many megapixels it can capture (five megapixels is likely to be the maximum anyway).

It's best to think of your tablet as a device for viewing photos and, possibly, making video calls. In this case, you'll want a front-facing camera.

    Getting connected

Wi-fi and Bluetooth are included on the majority of tablets, but 3G and 4G models are available too and are usually sold on pay monthly contracts. If you've got a smartphone, you probably don't need 3G on your tablet as well, unless you are using it out and about for work.

    Operating systems Android

    Price: £30 to £400

    Nexus 9

Android is Google's operating system for tablets and phones, so you'll need to sign up for a free Google or Gmail account to use it.

Android apps are bought and downloaded from the Google Play Store. There are thousands of Android tablet apps, but they aren't as heavily quality controlled as those in the Apple App Store and many aren't very good, so ensure you take a careful look before downloading. Most apps are free, however, so downloading a duff one will cost you no more than time and inconvenience.

Unfortunately, some apps containing viruses have got past checks and onto tablets from the Google Play Store - but if you're downloading a well-known and trusted brand this shouldn't be a concern.

Android tablets are made by lots of different companies, not all whose names will be familiar. Samsung and Sony are the best-known brands in the Android tablet game, but LG, Acer, Asus and Toshiba are other dependable brands. Google also co-develops tablets such as the Nexus 9, which it made with HTC.

Some of these companies add their own apps and bespoke look to the Android tablets they sell, but these aren't to everyone's taste. For instance Samsung tablets run TouchWiz, a heavy user interface with lots of different features. It even includes Samsung's own app store.

On the other hand, manufacturer specific extras such as the Guest Mode on Sony Xperia tablets make it easier to make the device child-friendly and keep adult content at bay.

There are lots of Android tablets to choose from and price is often a good indicator of quality.

If you really need to keep costs down you can buy an Android tablet for as little as £60, but there will be a huge difference in the build quality, screen resolution and the performance of it compared to, say, the £499 Sony Xperia Z4 10.1 inch tablet with its 2560x1600 resolution.   In comparison, the little-known JINYJIA 7-inch tablet has a £28.58 price tag and only an 800x480 resolution, the £119 Tesco Hudl 2 has a 1200x1200 pixel screen, while Google's own 9 inch Nexus 9 tablet costs £259 and has 2048x1536 pixels.

For occasional web browsing and checking your email, a budget tablet costing £90 to £120, such as the Tesco Hudl 2 (if you can get hold of one), will probably suffice. If you want a tablet that will get regular use, for instance for listening to music, watching videos and extensive gaming and app use, you need to be looking in the £200-plus range such as the Google Nexus 9 or at a big screen tablet like the Sony Xperia Tablet Z4 (£400-plus).

Google tends to update Android every year – the most recent release is called Marshmallow - but phones and tablets are still being sold with older versions of Android such as KitKat and Lollipop. Updates are issued at different times depending on the agreement the particular tablet maker has with Google.  If in doubt opt for one of Google's own Nexus brand devices, which are guaranteed at least two updates and will always feature the latest version of the operating system.

    iOS

    Price: £279 - £899

    Apple

Such is its popularity, the iPad name is pretty much synonymous with tablet.

The build quality, design, ease of use and choice of apps has proved reason enough for millions of people to choose an iPad and you're unlikely to regret following suit. In fact, price is the most likely deterrent to choosing one.

Apps are downloaded from the Apple App Store. There are millions to choose from, many designed especially for use on a tablet. Apps work on the iPhone and iPad.

The latest iPad models, the 12.9 inch screen iPad Pro and the 7.9 inch screen iPad Mini 4, have among the sharpest, most detailed displays you'll find on any tablet.

You can choose from capacities of 16GB, 32GB, 64GB or 128GB for the iPad Mini and either 32GB or 128GB for the iPad Pro. You can't expand the storage capacity of your iPad.

Apple tends to update its operating system every year, most recently to iOS 9, to add new features and functionality. Because it has so few tablets - unlike Android - Apple is pretty good at providing updates to older devices. However they might not get every feature and there'll come a point when an older device will stop receiving the iOS upgrades.

    Amazon Kindle Fire

    Price: £50 to £329

    Amazon Fire Tablet

Amazon uses a customised version of the Android operating system called Fire OS5 on its tablets.

As with Apple's products, however, Kindle is a closed shop, so you can't install apps on your Kindle tablet that you haven't bought through the Amazon App Store, using your Amazon log-in. This means you get a properly curated library of apps to choose from and install, but as a result, the selection is much more limited than Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Amazon recently launched the new Underground app store, which allows users to download apps that are completely free without in-app purchases.

If you already use Amazon Prime you'll get more out of Kindle and Fire tablets as the choice is quite walled in. Don't expect to find an official YouTube or Google Maps app.

The current generation of Kindles ranges from the budget Fire tablet, which costs only £49.99, right the way up to the Fire HD 10, costing £169.99. To keep prices low, Amazon's tablets feature sponsored screensavers (adverts) on the tablet which don't interrupt you while you're using it. You can pay an extra £10 to have them removed.

The basic Fire tablet gets you a 7 inch 1024x600 display, 8GB of storage and a quad-core 1.3GHz processor, while the top-end Fire HD 10 has a 10.1 inch HD display with 1280x800 resolution, 16 or 32GB of storage and a quad-core processor up to 1.5 GHz.

Spending an extra £110 gets you a better screen and more powerful device overall, but it depends on your needs. The Fire HD10 is more suited for entertainment – especially if you use Amazon Prime already – whereas the Fire is suitable for smaller tasks.

    Windows

    Price: £419 to £1,799

    Microsoft Surface Pro 4

Microsoft's slice of the tablet market comes in the form of its Surface devices, which burst onto the scene in 2012.

The Surface Pro 4 is the company's latest offering, which comes with the newest operating system Windows 10 already installed.

Microsoft has rolled out Windows 10 to all existing Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 users on a tablet or a PC, so if you've already upgraded, much of it will be very familiar.

The Pro 4 comes in a variety of options – the cheapest being £749 with 128GB of storage and an Intel Core m3 processor with 4GB of RAM. The highest option gives you 512GB, an Intel Core i7 processor and 16GB of RAM, but it will set you back £1,799.

The Surfaces work much more like a PC with touchscreen capabilities. Finger-friendly apps can be downloaded from the Windows Store. You can also navigate with the Surface Pen and buy a Cover keyboard too, to use it more like a standard PC.

Synchronisation across Windows devices is seamless thanks to the need to log in with your own user account on each one. Unique features to Microsoft tablets include a handy Groove Music streaming service plus the ability to port your Xbox games to your tablet, and full versions of Microsoft Office and OneDrive.

Google Pixel C tablet benchmark details, tipped for December 8 launch

Many of us were surprised when Google announced an upcoming new device at its September event, the high-end Google Pixel C tablet. Some specifications of the device were made official, and although Google didn't announce when it would release we hoped it would be available for the holiday season. Now we have news of details from GGoogle Pixel C benchmark spots, and the device is being tipped for a December 8 launch.

Many of the Google Pixel C specs were already revealed by Google. We know for instance that it will have an Nvidia Tegra X1 processor, and a 10.2-inch display with resolution of 2560 x 1800. Other confirmed specs include 3GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and 2-megapixel front-facing snapper. Another thing disclosed was that the tablet would be 7mm thick.

Now the Google Pixel C tablet has made an appearance on GFXBench and Geekbench, and this has fleshed out some of the details. For example the Tegra X1 is clocked at 1.9GHz (4xCortex A57 + 4xCortex A53 – ARMv8 big.LITTLE). The benchmark also showed the Pixel C to be running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The tablet features a USB Type-C port.

Of course this latest appearance of the Google Pixel C tablet also shows benchmark results that you can see in the images contained within this post. Just yesterday there were rumors from the Netherlands, of a pre-order or launch date of December 8. As we often see devices spotted in benchmark testing shortly before they release, it looks as though the rumor is plausible.

Google already announced the price of the Pixel C tablet as $499 for the 32GB model stepping up to $599 for the 64GB variant. An optional keyboard was also announced at $149. Unlike Google Nexus devices, the Google Pixel C tablet is being developed by Google itself. Hopefully the speculative launch date of December 8 will pan out, and we will shortly see the Google Pixel C up for sale.

The Tweakers.net website is reporting that the tablet will be available in the Netherlands although it's not clear at this time whether the tablet will also be available in other markets.

Although it does seem unlikely that Google would just launch their new Google Pixel C tablet in one country rather than rolling it out to the US, Europe and beyond.

To recap the Google Pixel C tablet is fitted with a 10.2 inch display offering users a resolution of 2560 x 1800 pixels and is powered by Nvidia Tegra X1 processor supported by 3 GB of RAM all running Google's Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
