Tablet market shrinks as demand grows for hybrids

San Francisco (AFP) - The tablet market shrank in the recently-ended quarter, as shipments of bargain-priced computers with detachable screens hit a record high, according to market analysis firm International Data Corporation.

Tablet makers shipped 43 million units in the quarter, down 14.7 percent from the number shipped in the same period a year earlier, according to an IDC global quarterly report.

Meanwhile, shipments of "detachables," computers with screens that can dock into keyboards to be used laptop style or undocked and used tablet style, priced less than $200 surged, IDC analysts said.

Precise numbers for detachable computers were not provided in the IDC release.

"The race to the bottom is something we have already experienced with slates and it may prove detrimental to the market in the long run as detachables could easily be seen as disposable devices rather than potential PC replacements," said IDC analyst Jitesh Ubrani.

Apple dominated the tablet market with a share of 21.5 percent, some 9.3 million iPads, strengthening its position despite shipping 6.2 percent fewer than in the same quarter last year, IDC reported.

Samsung held on to the number two position, prompting IDC to conclude that there appeared to be no "bleed over" from a massive Galaxy Note 7 recall that has tarnished the South Korean giant's image.

Samsung shipped 6.5 million tablets in a drop of 19.3 percent from the same quarter a year earlier, according to IDC.

Meanwhile, online retail titan Amazon shipped more than three times as many of its Fire tablets -- a total of 3.1 million in the quarter -- with credit given to low prices and deep discounts.

Lenovo tablet shipments were down 10.8 percent in the quarter to 2.7 million, while fifth-place Huawei shipped 2.4 million tablets in an increase of 28.4 percent from the third quarter of last year as the Chinese companies filled out the top five spots in the market, IDC reported.

IPAD MINI 5 DESIGN

Talking about the design, the Apple iPad Mini 5 is also rumored to ship with the same aluminum material, which was originally used on the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.

The main attraction of forthcoming iPad Mini is the possible elimination of headphone jack to accommodate lightning port connector. Moreover, you can also expect the addition of dust and water resistance features.

IPAD MINI 5 TO SHIP WITH PRESSURE SENSITIVE TECHNOLOGY

Expected to be equipped with pressure sensitive 3D touch technology, the iPad Mini 5 features a 7.0-inch retina display, 3GB RAM, and 32GB internal storage. Interestingly, the internal storage can be expanded by up to 256GB. Apple devices will not allow expansion of storage but iPad Mini 5 will be a new refresh.

If the upcoming iPad Mini comes with a thinner body, you can expect smaller battery with a 5124mAh capacity. However, the upcoming tablet will not compromise on the battery life. On the imaging segment, you can expect 8MP rear camera alongside a 1.2MP front-facing snapper.

iPad Mini 5 release date, specs rumors: Newest Mini tablet to launch along with the iPad Pro 2

#iPadMini5 #iPadPro2 – iPad Mini 5 release date, specs rumors: Newest Mini tablet to launch along with the iPad Pro 2 : The highly anticipated Oct. 27 Apple event has just wrapped up and much to the disappointment of the many, there wasn't any news with regards to the iPad Mini 5.

Weeks before the said occasion took place, there were countless rumors saying that the purported fifth iteration of the iPad Mini line could be unveiled this month along with the new iPad Pro unit. The Cupertino-based tech giant instead rolled out the three newest versions of the MacBook Pro which include a couple of 13-incher laptops and a higher-end 15-incher computer.

This gives the public the impression that the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus maker do not really intend to drop refreshed models of the iPad. Several reports are now speculating that if this is the case, then the iPad Mini 5 might see the light of the day in March 2017 together with the iPad Pro 2.

Just this week, it was heard that the latter device could be hitting the market next summer. Tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reportedly claimed that there could also be three variants of the iPad Pro 2: a 12.9-incher, a 10.5-incher, and the entry level, 9.7-incher tablet. All except the last tablet is touted to house the next-gen A10X Apple chipset. Could the iPad Mini 5 get the same treatment?

It seems like this would hardly be the case at all. According to MacWorld, the latest processor Apple can give to the unit is its homegrown A9 chipsets. This, however, is seen as a huge improvement from the iPad Mini 4's A8 processor.

The same pattern would likely occur for the iPad Mini 5's camera specs. As added by the media outlet, the new device might retain the 8 MP primary camera and the 1.2 MP front snapper found in the outgoing model. Needless to say, all these details should be taken with a proverbial grain of salt. Watch out for more updates. Source: christiandaily

Microsoft goes back to the drawing board – literally, with 28" tablet and hockey puck knob

Microsoft today revealed the Surface Studio, a 28" drawing-board-like PC you can stick a hockey-puck-looking dial on to control software. The touchscreen super-fondleslab was announced alongside an updated Surface Book.

Redmond also unveiled the next major update to its latest operating system: Windows 10 Creators Update.

First, the software. Speaking at a press event in New York on Wednesday, Terry Myerson, head of Microsoft's Windows and Devices division, said he was "humbled" that 400 million people had chosen Windows 10 (no mention of those who didn't), and said that in return the Creators Update would be available for free to everyone using the operating system.

Myerson said that there were too many new features to go into, so he was just going to focus on three: augmented reality, the best 4K gaming, and giving everyone faster ways to connect and share.

3D was a key buzzword for the event. Microsoft GM Megan Saunders demonstrated a phone app that works on any mobile (she used an HP Elite x3 using Windows Phone) to scan a sandcastle and build a 3D model of it.

She then added the model to Paint, along with shots of her two daughters, and created a 3D diorama that can be printed out on a 3D printer or shared on social media. 3D modellers SketchUp are including a bunch of default objects in the OS update to add into pictures.

Saunders promised that over the next year, 3D will be built into many Microsoft apps. For example, there was a demonstration of how this will work in PowerPoint. It looked good (but wouldn't really add much to a boring presentation).

3D powerpoint

Thanks for putting up with Windows 10? Megan Saunders on stage

The same objects can be brought into augmented and virtual reality, and Microsoft said that next year we'll see headsets for both from HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus, and Acer. These aren't going to be too expensive either, with Myerson saying prices would start from $299 for the lowest-cost kit.

Games and Glory

More people are now watching gaming than playing it, Myerson said – more watched the League of Legends championships this year than the World Series. So Microsoft is building one-click game streaming to Windows 10 and the Xbox.

The demos showed how a single click on a button can start the broadcast and share the fact that you're showing off to your friends. There are also buttons to allow preset chat messages, like "look at the chat box," which are read out in a cheesy voice in the game.

The new update will also allow gamers to set up their own custom tournaments on Xbox and Windows 10, with their own custom rules. With that, and the new streaming capabilities, Microsoft is looking to bolster its position in the gaming market and give other game-streaming sites a real headache.

Xbox users and Windows 10 will also get enhanced sound from Dolby Atmos and support for 4K gaming videos as part of the Creators Update release.

Sharing and caring

The update will also boost the operating system's social media chops. The OS will now find the most commonly communicated-with contacts you have and will make sharing stuff with them easier.

Demonstrators showed that if you right-click on a file, the option to share it with your top four contacts pops up instantly. It can also filter communications so that messages from those top contacts get priority – initially in email and Skype, and then SMS and Xbox later.

These top contacts can also be shown in the bottom right of the screen and they can send you "shoulder taps" – basically emoji messages in 3D. That could get irritating very quickly.

Microsoft Surface Studio: Now you can really turn it on – with a rotating dial

It wasn't just about the software at today's conference – the Surface Book is getting an update and there's a monster 28-inch new Surface aimed at designers.

The top-end Core i7-powered Surface Book is getting an upgrade, with a faster processor that required a new cooling system, double the graphics performance of last year's model, and 30 per cent more battery life to give 16 hours of operations.

The end result, promised head of the Surface line Panos Panay, is the fastest and best-specced laptop out there. It will be out in November for $2,399 and is available for preorder today.

Surface Studio

Microsoft Surface Studio drawing-board computer ... Big and bold

Panay also unveiled the Surface Studio, a 28-inch screen that features the thinnest LCD touchscreen ever produced, just 12.5mm thick and powered by a base unit. The screen has 13.5 million pixels at 192PPI and a 3:2 aspect ratio – but the grunt is in the hardware.

"Windows has never been better on any single product, any," Panay enthused.

The Surface Studio runs on an Intel quad-core Core i5 or i7, high-end Nvidia graphics and a 1TB or 2TB hard drive. The screen also has microphones arrayed around it for voice control and a "studio quality" camera for videoconferencing.

The screen can be folded back to around a 20-degree angle, like a drafting board. The Surface Pen works on it, but Microsoft has also built the Surface Dial for the platform.

The silver hockey puck works on and off the screen. On the desk it can be turned to scroll forward and backward through a document or through changes in a document or artwork. Alternatively it can be put on the screen and used there to scroll through color palates and different commands.

Youtube Video

The Dial will also work with Surface Pro 3 and 4 models, and the Surface Book.

The Surface Studio will set you back $2,999 and is available for pre-order now and in limited quantities by November. Here are the super-slab's main geeky tech specs:

  • Display: 637.35 mm x 438.90 mm x 12.5 mm (25.1" x 17.3" x 0.5"). 28" 4500 x 3000 (192 PPI) touchscreen with 10 point multi-touch. This sits on a 250.00 mm x 220.00 mm x 32.2 mm (9.8" x 8.7" x 1.3") base.
  • Storage: 1TB or 2TB drive
  • Configurations:
  • 6th-gen Intel Core i5 with 8GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 965M with 2GB GDDR5 memory
  • 6th-gen Intel Core i7 with 16GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 965M with 2GB GDDR5 memory
  • 6th-gen Intel Core i7 with 32GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M with 4GB GDDR5 memory
  • Connections: Four USB 3.0 ports, full-size SD slot, mini DisplayPort, headphone jack, 1Gbps Ethernet, usual Wi-Fi
  • Cameras: Front, 5.0 MP with 1080p HD video, and back, autofocus camera with 1080p HD video, plus microphones and speakers
  • Operating system: Windows 10 Pro
  • Microsoft's head honcho Satya Nadella popped on stage at the end of the set to wrap up the session, and put the boot into Apple.

"Each of us has an innate desire to create, to connect, to express – that's what makes us human," he said. "The last 10 years in our industry has seen a variety of new technologies. Much of that has been slanted toward consumption, however I believe the next 10 years will be defined by technology that empowers creation."

Microsoft is all about the creatives, the builders, Nadella said, somewhat disingenuously. Apple has traditionally been the territory of designers and other creatives, but it's clear that the new hardware and software is aimed directly at one of Cupertino's core markets. ®

Moving on, if the device does indeed show up at the upcoming trade event, it was said early on that the iPad Pro 2 will don a slimmer profile and will be backed by a sturdy aluminum chassis. Moreover, it is said that the refreshed iPad Pro will still be carrying the audio jack connector together with the reversible USB Type-C hub.

Its display might boast 5K resolution, though the 10.9-inch iteration might settle for 4K. Meanwhile, under the hood, there will likely be an A10X processor, the new iOS 10 operating system, and an improved graphics coprocessor.

#Microsoft #SurfacePro5 – Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date, specs: tablet to be unveiled later this month with Intel Kaby Lake? : Microsoft recently announced an event to celebrate the latest milestone of their current operating system, Windows 10, to be held later this month. Hence, many tech gurus and fans have come to believe that this could also be the perfect avenue for the company to finally unveil their hyped devices.

Many suspect that the Redmond-based tech vendor might introduce the latest iteration of their highly flexible notebook that is the Surface Book 2. However, there are some who think that the company might instead announce the next-generation Surface Pro.

Reports are getting rife that if the upcoming Windows 10 event would yield the latest render of the 2-in-1 tablet, it has been speculated that it will carry the latest processing chip from Intel dubbed as the Kaby Lake.

However, it has to be noted that the new processor from the famed chipmaker isn't expected to enter the market until next year, though reports say that the seventh-generation chipset has already been rolled out to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) as early as the second quarter of this year. Having said that, there's a possibility that the Surface Pro 5 could still sport the Kaby Lake's predecessor, the sixth-generation Skylake.

#iPadPro2 #Tablet – iPad Pro 2 release date, specs: Tablet could have improved cameras, augmented reality technology : Rumors about Apple's other products that were not seen in last month's press event don't seem to die down as one of the no-shows, the iPad Pro 2, is likely to be presented later this month. Aside from the speculated launch, there is also talk about the upcoming tablet's features.

It is said that the refreshed iPad Pro could be lodged with an iSight camera boasting a 12-megapixel lens. Moreover, it is probable that the upgraded shooter could be carried by the yet to be announced tablet's top-end version and will be paired with the True Tone flash.

It was predicted by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo that the Cupertino-based premium device maker will be unveiling two more makes of the tablet but it's still undisclosed whether the entry-level and midrange renders would be sporting the rumored camera tweak or not.

Meanwhile, the latest reports in the rumor mill suggest that the next iPad Pro might don augmented reality (AR) features as the said technology was hinted by Apple's CEO Tim Cook. It can be recalled that the CEO previously expressed his interest in AR, the same technology used by Niantic's hit gaming app "Pokémon GO."

However, Cook further explained that such technology will need a lot of time and resources in order to be integrated into their devices. Nevertheless, he assured that AR will be arriving alongside future offerings of the company.

Apart from this, the 12.9-inch iteration of the new iPad Pro is said to be fused with an A10X processor while the other two renders might get a toned-down chipset provided that these reports would come to fruition.

The price tag for the iPad Pro 2 has yet to be revealed. However, official information regarding the device may soon come to light as it was previously reported that Apple's supposed Oct. 27 fourth quarter earnings call was rescheduled to an earlier date. As a result, fans and tech pundits have assumed that the company could be hosting another event on the said date. Source: vinereport

#SurfacePro5 #Tablets – Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Release Date, Specs & Rumors Round-Up [VIDEO]; Launch Confirmed For October? : It looks like consumers of tablet computers will soon have something to cheer about as Microsoft has confirmed the Surface 5 release date for this month.

Microsoft Surface 5 Release Date, Specs & Rumors

Packed with an array of awe-inspiring features, the latest Surface Pro 5 has long been rumored to arrive this year. The Surface Pro lineup from Microsoft has been deemed as MacBook Pro killer by several sources.

Citing the huge success of Surface 4, it's hardly surprising that the demand of Surface 5 is constantly rising. Probably to cash in on the rising popularity of the tablet, Microsoft has announced that the much lauded Surface 5 will be unveiled during their Windows 10 launch event slated to take place this October. There are still reports that suggest that the device will be in stores by fall 2017.

Microsoft will introduce several different models for the Surface 5, from a basic Core i3, up to a Core i7, coupled with plenty of RAM and internal storage, Tech Advisor reported.

The Surface Pro 5 is said to sport the similar display as the 2016 MacBook, but with a stronger processor and most likely a lighter build than the Mac. In addition, this top-notch device is expected to be much thinner than its predecessor, the Surface Pro 4.

The impending Surface Pro 5 is said to be the Microsoft tab device to implement the USB-C standards that expedites charging as well as data transfer. Furthermore, the Surface Pro 5 is expected to come out with a better camera as well as some minor component tweaks, according to The Country Caller.

One of the most talked about updates is the Surface Pen. The stylus paired with Surface Pro tablet will undergo a radical overhaul. The revamped Surface Pen is said to charge wirelessly when attached to the table via magnet. The current Surface Pen attaches magnetically, but it is not rechargeable. It is powered by an alkaline AAAA battery.

According to latest reports, the Surface Pro 5 will have sixth-generation Skylake chip, rumors indicate it will the next generation codenamed Kaby Lake. Source: Universityherald

Surface Pro 5 VS iPad Pro 2 Release, Rumors and Specs: Which Is Better?

#SurfacePro5 #iPadPro2 – Surface Pro 5 VS iPad Pro 2 Release, Rumors and Specs: Which Is Better? : Apple and Microsoft are set for an all out competition in the hybrid tablet-cum-laptop convertible market. Microsoft initially released their Surface Pro 4 to compete directly with Apple's iPad Pro tablet.

However, Apple certainly looked way ahead despite Microsoft's powerful platform. Microsoft is planning to push the competition further to slaughter Apple's iPad Pro line. Speculations are now high that the company's next in line high end tablet line – the Surface Pro 5, is expected to be released this month.

Apple is meanwhile planning to counter that with an equally powerful iPad Pro 2 in 2016 itself to give Microsoft their worst nightmare. Of course, right now the specifications and features of both devices remain unclear.

However, rumors as usual have given us what to expect from the tech giants. The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 vs iPad Pro 2016 competition seems to be heating up as the Holiday 2016 arrives. Let's explore both devices in terms of their rumored specifications and possible new features.

    Processor & Performance

Microsoft's Surface Pro 5 seemingly have a major processor upgrade threatening even the Mac line. Instead of the sixth-generation Sky Lake processors, the Surface Pro 5 is said to come equipped with a new and far powerful Intel Kaby Lake processors.

Its base RAM size is expected to come in 8GB size compared to 4GB of the previous Surface tablets. Rumors also expect a high end version featuring 16GB RAM and an AMD/Nvidia GPU for high end graphics and gaming.

Apple is also planning a powerful device. The all new A10x processor will power the iPad Pro 2016, making the device 80 percent faster than the PC. However, its RAM will probably stay at the same 4GB, but still, Apple with its all-around hardware-software vertical integration will have a competitive device.

iPad Air 3 Release Date: Tablet Refresh Crowding iPad Pro 2 Line!

#iPadAir3 #iPadPro2 – iPad Air 3 Release Date: Tablet Refresh Crowding iPad Pro 2 Line! : Apple will have its hands full right in the very first quarter of 2017 with word that the latest iPad Pro 2 will be unveiled. However, it may not be the only one coming out in the open with word that the iPad Air 3 could also be out in the open.

The iPad Air 3 was speculated to come out this year at certain events like the WWDC. Nothing materialized so far and it seems unlikely that it will come out alongside the upcoming MacBook Pro 2016. That said, the best bet is for the iPad Air 3 to be rolled out alongside the iPad Pro 2 though it could be a crowded list of tablets for customers to choose from, Mashable reported.

iPad Air 2 price drops throw customers off

The iPad Air 2 remains the tablet for the moment though the line is due for a refresh. With the price drops for the current iPad Air 2, many were under the impression that the Cupertino company would be finally unveiling a successor, the iPad Air 3, as mentioned in a previous post.

The iPad Air 2 has been around for over two years now and is seen as the cheaper alternative to the higher priced iPad Pro 2. As an example, the iPad Air 2 128 GB variant now costs $200 less (down to $499.99 from $699.99). So, is iPad Air 3 coming soon?

    Potential iPad Air 2 specs

With a release this Fall unlikely to happen, all eyes for the iPad Air 3 shift to a possible coming on March 2017. Assuming it does roll out, it will be interesting to see what specs it may carry.

Like the iPad Pro 2, iPad Air 3 could come also sport an A10X chip, bigger RAM, a 12 MP camera, smart connectors, True Tone display and support for 3D Touch. It is expected to be thinner as well boasting of a 7000-series aluminum body, Neurogadget reported.

Seeing that the iPad Pro 2 is on top of the Apple roster, there is a chance that the specs of the iPad Air 3 will be lower than those mentioned above. Regardless, it is the price range that most are worried about – hopefully something easy on the pockets. Source: gamenguide

It was mentioned in reports that the Surface Phone may be revealed this coming Oct. 26, and that Microsoft will unveil the Surface Pro 5 to the public as well. Some people from the tech community are confident that the company will be showing the smartphone during that event even though there were not many details that were released for the device.

The Windows mobile will have a software called "Continuum" that will prove useful for consumers. Next is that a user will be able to access all the Microsoft Office programs without a sweat.

Android 7.0 Nougat Update: When Will Your Phone Have It?

#AndroidNougat #Google – Android 7.0 Nougat Update: When Will Your Phone Have It? : We've all been there – hopefully waiting for the new release of the brand new Android on our phones. The thing is, the Nougat release is not done simultaneously on all the devices, but in a custom way.

A lot of different factors are in play for the new Nougat release. However, according to the previous updates, announcements and leaks – we can definitely rely on the past performance and post what we know so far. We are listing the Nougat release updates for every smartphone brand.

    Nexus

The brand new Android Nougat has rolled out to the Nexus devices, including the Nexus 6P, 5X, 6, 9 as well as the Pixel C tablet.

The last one in the row to get the Nougat release was the Nexus 9 LTE, only because the Wi-Fi was a tough nut to crack to this device. According to some sources, the Wi-Fi needed extra work on the newest Nougat update just in order to ensure proper LTE connectivity. Let's just hope this is not a problem with the latest update from Android, the 7.1 Pixel.

    Samsung

Although the brand new Note 7 has been pulled off the marketplace for its 'explosive' features, the Android Nougat release has been seen on the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge so far. If you are having a Note 7 device, on the other hand, you better give it back to Samsung.

And yes – Samsung is a bit slow when it comes to updates, and they best proved that with the eight-month late Marshmallow release in June this year, to the Note 5 and S6 Edge+ models.

    T-Mobile

As a carrier, this 'network' has a whole base of phones that are under a franchise – and as such are getting a Nougat update simultaneously. The list includes HTC 10, HTC One M9, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 7(pulled off), Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.

    HTC

HTC is one of the better companies in terms of updates. However, the fourth quarter has been still reserved for the Nougat release on all HTC devices, just like the two from the T-Mobile list (mentioned above). One thing is certain – the HTC Twitter team never fails to miss an announcement or prepare us for a new release.

When it comes to LG, Motorola and Sony, all three of these brands will supposedly get the update simultaneously. It is certain that some of the smartphone models will be tricky to integrate to the Nougat release – but hey, that's what updates are for, aren't they? Source: neurogadget

iPad Air 3 Release Date Nowhere In Sight; Apple Stays Mum About New Tablet

#Apple #iPadAir3 – iPad Air 3 Release Date Nowhere In Sight; Apple Stays Mum About New Tablet : Exciting rumors about Apple's iPad Air 3 release date and specifications have been going around for quite a while now and is causing intense and greater anticipation among avid Apple users and tech junkies.

Though many expected an announcement of its release date during the company's September 2016 event, Apple seemed to have been tight-lipped about the product, According to GamenGuide.

The much-awaited iPad Air 3 is projected to come with a much sleeker design. As for its color schemes, a Rose Gold color variant may be added to the brand's novelty colors that come in Gray, Silver and Gold. Lightweight tablet users are thrilled by the rumor of the product being thinner than its forerunner, the iPad Air 2 which is just 6.1mm thick. An addition of a Smart connector for Smart keyboards have also been out, thereby leaving everyone clamoring for a big reveal.

The commotion about this much-awaited product may be left as is since there has been no recent news about its release. However, Apple has announced a new line that everyone can look forward to, the iPad Pro  series. These powerful models will come in various proportions, measuring 7.9, 9.7 and 12.9 inches.

All will be powered by an A10 chipset, equipped with a quad-speaker audio, a true tone display that supports P3 Wide color and of course, a 12-megapixel rear camera.

Amidst all the exciting predictions made by analysts over the past months, speculations that the big enterprise may no longer consider the expansion of the iPad Air collection has emerged upon the announcement of this new product line, according to The Bitbag. Dismaying as it may seem for the many who have hoped for an upgrade, gadget users could just hope for the best in the upcoming spring launching of the new series in March 2017. Source: itechpost

Teething tablets could be linked to 10 death’s and other severe symptoms

According to a press release from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the homeopathic teething tablets and gels might be putting at risks babies' health. The FDA made it clear that they are still investigating, which means no study relates the teething products to deaths nor severe symptoms. Still, some companies removed their goods from the market.

The release was made public September 30 in the FDA official website but is until now that the message reached Americans. The FDA warns parents and caregivers that the possibly dangerous products are distributed by CVS, Hylands, and other retail stores, and online.

teething-tablets-fdaIn 2010, the agency released a safety alert in the homeopathic products for containing belladonna. Image Credit: KIRO TV

Some of the symptoms associated with teething tablets and gels are seizures, difficulty breathing, lethargy, excessive sleepiness, muscle weakness, skin flushing, difficulty urinating, constipation, or agitation after using the products.

There is not a conclusion because the FDA is currently investigating the products and their effects on children. The adverse events were reported to the agency and were linked to teething products but with not enough evidence.

This is not the first time that the FDA is suspicious about teething tablets and gels. In 2010, the agency released a safety alert in the homeopathic products for containing belladonna. Not all distributors had the component, but Hyland's product did, and they had to recall their tablets and gels at that time.

Homeopathic teething tablets and gels have been not approved by the FDA for safety or efficacy. But now, after the reports of deaths and symptoms related to teething products, the agency is investigating.

The FDA is working to figure out if the products are dangerous for babies. In the midtime, parents and physicians are urged to stop using teething products and report if they have noticed any adverse effects after using teething tablets or gels.

Hyland made another recall of their goods in the market related to teething and stopped distributing them in the United States. In the company's official website, a letter was posted explaining that the recent FDA warning has created confusion among Hyland consumers and limited the access to the medicines.

"Hyland's has not been made aware of any data that supports the claims in the warning against our teething tablets and gels. Our understanding is that the Food and Drug Administration's investigation of these products is still ongoing. The fact is that we have not been made aware of any medical or statistical evidence to support a causal link between homeopathic teething tablets and adverse outcomes at this point. We continue to request any available information and statistics from the FDA," said the company in an email sent to CNN.

Hylands employees stated that the FDA actions, considering that the agency does not have proves linking teething tablets and gels to death and other symptoms in children, are burdensome. The provoked panic by the FDA undermines the agency because it puts people in a difficult place, where the public does not know who to trust.

As an alternative to teething products, the American Academy of Pediatrics suggests that babies in pain because of teething can be massaged in their gums with a clean finger. A solid teething ring or a clean wet, cold washcloth can also be used to relieve the baby's pain. Frozen bananas, berries or bagels are also recommended.

Acetaminophen can be given to the child but consulting the dose with a physician is recommended.

Apple Rumor: iPad Pro 2 Upgrades to Pack Beauty Outside, Beast Inside; Tablets Arrive after Macbook Pro 2016

#iPadPro #MacBookPro – Apple Rumor: iPad Pro 2 Upgrades to Pack Beauty Outside, Beast Inside; Tablets Arrive after Macbook Pro 2016 : Apple is going to report its Q4 earning calls soon and this could shed light to the upcoming Macbook Pro 2016, and most importantly, the overhaul that iPad Pro 2 will received next year.

Apple rumor: iPad Pro 2 is going to have faster and smoother performance with the A10X chip

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has claimed that Apple will equip the upcoming iPad tablets with powerful processor, A10X chip. The leaked benchmark score of the chipset shows an impressive 4,326 single-core test result.

Not only the chip that gets an upgrade, but the performance will also be smoother. Potential users will be able to pan, zoom and pinch faster using the latest display technology that Apple implements.

Apple rumor: iPad Pro 2 to sport 7,000 series aluminum

Since the 7,000 series aluminum is used in Apple Watch, it is said that the upcoming iPad Pro will use the similar material for its chassis. If this is to be believed, it will make the tablet tough and sturdy, especially if it is going to be waterproof.

Furthermore, since Macbook Pro 2016 is speculated to have a major overhaul and thinner dimension, the said design could also be applied to the upcoming iPad Pro 2, The Forbes reported.

Apple rumor: iPad Pro 2 will get a Q2 2017 release date

Internal sources said that the much anticipated second iteration of iPad Pro will be rolled out during the first half of 2017, Bloomberg reported. Moreover, iPad Pro 2 will reportedly be offered in three variants that includes 7.9 inches, 10.5 inches and 12.9 inches.

Many tech analysts have also speculated that Apple would be replacing its iPad Mini lineup with the new iPad Pro lineup. However, some say that other than replacing the iPad Mini lineup, the Cupertino-based tech giant could just rebrand or rename its iPad Mini to iPad Mini Pro. Elysium and DotProduct Announce InfiPoints DP On-tablet Feature Extraction for DPI-8

Elysium and DotProduct Announce InfiPoints DP On-tablet Feature Extraction for DPI-8

HAMAMATSU, Japan—Oct. 11, 2016—Elysium and DotProduct LLC are announcing the release of InfiPoints DP. This powerful new Android application will allow DotProduct users to extract planar surfaces and cylinders from their scan data and export them to industry standard solid modeling formats, all on the same tablet used to capture the data. This greatly enhances the effectiveness of the DPI-8 Kit for use in surface-based CAD and BIM design environments, both on and off the tablet. The end-to-end workflow is being demonstrated live at the DotProduct booth (Hall A3, Booth A3.010) all week at INTERGEO in Hamburg, Germany.

Phi.3D 2.1 & InfiPoints DP offer new rapid path from DPI-8 scanning to CAD and BIM

With the latest release of Phi.3D 2.1, all new and updated DPI-8 handheld scanners are ready for direct integration with InfiPoints DP. The new "Send Scene To" function in Phi.3D 2.1 offers several sharing and integration features, including direct export to InfiPoints DP on the tablet.

Within InfiPoints DP, DPI-8 users can extract planes and cylinders from the scanned point cloud data, and export these features directly to IGES and DWG CAD files. This scan to CAD workflow can now come full circle right on the tablet, with the ability to export DPI-8 scanned data into mobile CAD tools such as OnShape or Autodesk Fusion 360. Off the tablet, this workflow is enabling import into mainstream solid modeling programs such as SOLIDWORKS, Creo Parametric, and others.

MacBook Air 2016 release date, updates: Reasons why the MacBook line-up would be discontinued

Several analysts claim that the MacBook Air will finally be discontinued and will not be upgraded for the next cycle. (Photo : Getty Images/Justin Sullivan)

Speculations recently surfaced that the MacBook Air will be finally discontinued and will not be upgraded for its upcoming cycle. This was due to the very similar variants already existing in Apple's line-ups, including the MacBook Pro and the iPad Pro and Air.

Apple fans continued following the much-awaited unveiling of the fully revamped MacBook line-up, whether it was the Pro or the Air. When the tech-giant held their event last March, some expected that the Cuptertino-based company will finally be giving an update to one or both variants. It can be recalled the last time the devices were updated was in 2015.

It became a surprise for majority when Apple released an underwhelming upgrade for the MacBook Air, which is only an additional 8GB onboard memory. Despite this, the anticipation was still present during the company's September event, but it turned out to be a launching for the manufacturer's new flagship phone.

Now that Apple released several variants of devices, with tablets and laptops almost being similar, many are predicting that the company will not be introducing a new line-up of MacBook Air. According to Tech Blogger Jack March, a source who has the information to the situation confirmed that Apple will be discontinuing the Air series, both for MacBook and iPad, MacWorld UK reported.

The report added the tech-company is not planning to release any iPad Air 3 now that the iPad Pro has already a 9.7-inch variant. Consequently, a new MacBook Air also does not fit into picture since Apple will be releasing a thinner and lighter MacBook Pro.

The publication also took note of Apple CEO Tim Cook in his interview with the Telegraph. Cook mentioned there would be a time that consumers will not be opting for a PC anymore, saying that people in the future would most likely purchase tablets or smartphones.

Other analysts also gave insights to the possibility. Kantar World Panel Comtech Chief of Research Carolina Milanesi said that MacBook Air line-up should not be branched out anymore. She also mentioned that all notebooks need to be more mobile nowadays.

However, IHS Markit Technology Director Rhoda Alexander, production of both the MacBook Pro and Air already started 2nd quarter this year, and they are expecting the devices to be released by October, Forbes reported.

iPad Pro 2 release date, specs: Upcoming tablet to come with powerful A10X chip?

#Apple #iPadPro2 – iPad Pro 2 release date, specs: Upcoming tablet to come with powerful A10X chip? : Following the launch of the iPad Pro 9.7 earlier this year, rumors about the iPad Pro 2 have been buzzing online.

Fans were surprised when the Cupertino-based company failed to debut a tablet at last month's iPhone 7 launch as it seemed as though the timing was right for an iPad Pro refresh, but new rumors claim that the tablet could make an appearance at another Apple event in spring 2017 and that it will be more powerful than ever as it will come with Apple's next chip.

According to Tech Radar, it is possible that the iPad Pro 2 will arrive with the upcoming A10X chip deemed to be far more powerful than the current A10 chip found in the iPhone 7. According to a Weibo leaker, the A10X chip has a single-core Geekbench score of 4236 and a multi-core score of 6588.

That's significantly higher than the A10's scores as it has a single-core score of 3490 and multi-core score of 5580. The iPad Pro 2 is expected to come in two versions — a 12.9-inch model and a 9.7-inch variant. It will also likely come in the same color options as its predecessor, so tech fans may not get anything more other than the usual Silver, Gold, White, and Rose Gold offerings.

Apart from an upgraded chip, the tablet is also expected to have better cameras as the current 9.7-inch version has a 12-megapixel iSight camera, while the 12.9-inch model has an 8-megapixel camera. It is also expected to be dust and waterproof, just like the current iPhone models. The tablet is rumored to come with 32, 128, and 256 GB variants.

As for the price, it is expected that the iPad Pro 2 will start at $599 to $929 for the 9.7-inch model, while the 12.9-inch version is estimated to start at $799 for the 32 GB version. The iPad Pro 2 is said to be released in March 2017. Source: vinereport

Apple iPad Air 3 Release Date: New Tablet Still Likely To Launch In 2016 [VIDEO]

Rumor mills have not ceased churning speculations centering on Apple iPad Air 3 release date hinting that the purported new iPad Air tablet will be launched sometime this year.

Other reports, however, suggest that the launch of the new iPad Air is not anticipated anytime soon. The reports base their theory on the fact that the lion's share of Apple's new products has already been launched. But some optimistic reports don't seem to share the same opinion.

Although Apple did not mention iPads during the recently concluded iPhone 7 launch, according to a report on MacWorld, it's safe to hazard a guess that the Cupertino based tech firm will take the wraps off the new iPads in autumn 2016 as there's still plenty of time left in the year.

It can be recalled that Apple releases its new tablets in the month of October. The original iPad Air was launched on October in 2013, while iPad Air 2 was launched on October in 2014. If Apple follows its release pattern, gadget freaks will have something to cheer about in the form of a new iPad this month.

Another factor that further cements the claim is that Apple has already begun tailing off the price of the current gen iPad Air 2. Some fans consider the discount as a clear indication that an all-new version is in the offing.

Apple is also expected to launch two other products i.e. the MacBook Pro 2016 and iMac 2016 computer. The year is not over yet, and if rumors proved to be true, the new iPad Air 3 will hit the store shelves alongside any of the two aforesaid products before the year ends.

    Apple Pencil Support

The Apple Pencil support is one of the most anticipated features and there's hearsay that it will be launched in the market as one of the superior styluses today. If this happens, the new iPad will be one of the most run-after products, ChristianDaily reported.

Meanwhile some reports have pegged the device to be sporting an even sleeker and thinner design as compared to its precursor.

iPad Pro 2 Release Date, News & Update: Same Features, Specs With iPhone 7? Apple Tablet, MacBook Pro 2016 October Launching Confirmed?

When the current iPad Pro with a 12.9 inch-screen was released in September 2015, many fans were hoping for Apple to immediately follow it with a new iteration. However, after a few months of rumors and speculations, the Cupertino based company has yet to provide concrete details with regard to the development and release of the new iPad Pro 2. Previous reports suggested that the new tablet was going to be announced along with iPhone 7 during the company's Sept. 7 event. Obviously, that did not happen and fans were left wondering when the highly anticipated device will arrive in the market.

According to the latest reports, the upcoming iPad Pro 2 may not be release this year as there is no clear indication from Apple that it will hold another launching before the year ends. However, industry observers are positive that the company will gather for a new tech affair in October for the launching of iPad Pro 2 and the much awaited Apple's flagship laptop, MacBook Pro 2016. Although the tablet's launching is rumored to happen this month, many believe that its release will still be in the first quarter of 2017, which is possibly in February.

The new iPad Pro 2 tablet is said to arrive with a slimmer and lighter design compared to its predecessor. If rumors prove to be true, the new handheld device will come out without the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack and carry a new audio port similar to that of the new iPhone 7. Surface Pro 5 Release Date Pushed Back due to These 3 Reasons?

#SurfacePro5 #Tablet – Surface Pro 5 Release Date Pushed Back due to These 3 Reasons? : Microsoft is expected to launch Surface Pro 5 in October but there is no sign of the hybrid laptop. It seems likely that the delay is caused by a few reasons.

We have come to the month of October and one of the much-awaited devices is the Surface Pro 5. However, with Microsoft remains mum and there is no sign of showing off the tablet – here are a few possible reasons why Surface Pro 5 launch could be pushed back.

    Redstone 2 unconfirmed

The Redstone 2 is a codename rumored to be given to Windows 10 upcoming update but there has been no report on the 'release date' other then speculations.

According to Windows Central, the rich-feature Windows 10 Redstone 2 is said to bring more enhancements but consumers should expect to see the update rolled out in 2017. With that being said, the Surface Pro 5 which is speculated to get the Redstone 2, will not appear this year.

No Kaby Lake, no new tablet

There is a huge possibility that the Surface Pro 5 will get a major upgrade and Microsoft could be using Intel Kaby Lake for the laptop's processor. However, the release of Kaby Lake is just like the Redstone 2 – it remains unconfirmed.

Many rants have assumed that if Surface Pro 5 gets a 2016 release date, it will make more sense for Microsoft to equip the laptop with Skylake because the 7th generation core debuts in 2017.

Talking Point: Nintendo Has No Set Formula for Hardware Reveals, But NX is Testing Fans' Patience

    Nintendo NX.jpg

As someone who spends their days immersed in the weird world of Nintendo, at times I can't decide whether the current online climate is entertaining, frustrating or baffling. Perhaps a mix of all three. I'm referring, of course, to the ongoing obsession with Nintendo NX, with a lot of vocal online followers of the big N caring about little else and evidently shunning the idea that 'good things come to those who wait'.

In some respects, only one thing about Nintendo's strategy with NX is surprising - the long wait for a reveal of the concept. We've gone over some pros and cons of this already; standout reasons include the positives that hype continues to build and Nintendo can potentially go all-out with intense marketing over a short period. Negatives include the increasing likelihood of genuine leaks, and the fact that fans are getting frustrated.

That secrecy, assuming the company does hit its planned March 2017 release, is the notable change from the norm. Nintendo may have drawn inspiration from major technology companies outside of the gaming bubble, where the reveal-to-release process happens over a relatively short time. It's certainly not common in gaming hardware, apart from examples such as mid-generation iterations - the New Nintendo 3DS, Xbox One S and PS4 Pro were all given short turnarounds from their announcements to appearing on store shelves. The fact it's not common practice with a 'new generation' of hardware may explain why some vocal online fans are losing their minds, packing comments sections on Nintendo's social media posts with constant "where's NX" remarks.

Looking at recent examples, Nintendo's approach to revealing hardware hasn't always been consistent, varying from quick turnarounds to longer waits.

    3DS reveal.jpg

Sticking to the current generation, the 3DS was first confirmed (formally) in a terse, dull investor relations statement in March 2010. Rumours had abounded of a DS successor for a while beforehand, and the brief statement revealed glasses-free 3D and backward compatibility as features. It was then a relatively short wait before the 3DS had its full unveiling in June 2010 that year at E3; ahead of its March 2011 release there were major media events a couple of months before, along with consumer demo 'tours' shortly before release.

It was a quick turnaround overall, though that was arguably a problem. The system launched in time for Nintendo's end of year finances but was half-baked, lacking a killer app at launch and missing key features like the eShop. It was the Summer and beyond before it picked up speed, and by then tanking sales prompted a hefty price cut and some major releases to save the day in the Holiday season of 2011. The release schedule was clearly planned by Nintendo to boost year-end profits, to be blunt about it, and it wasn't an unparalleled success.

The Wii U had a longer road to stores. It was April 2011 that 'Project Cafe' rumours hit the web, and later that month Nintendo confirmed it would show its new hardware at E3. It did so, but the reveal didn't go particularly well due to sloppy messaging and that Wii U branding; while the fact it was a new console seemed clear to me, a lot of online comment seemed unsure of whether it was actually a tablet-style add-on for Wii. No matter what you though of that misconception at the time, it was Nintendo's mistake to be vague enough for that to happen.

    Wii U E3.jpg

After that we knew of the core concept, and occasionally Nintendo discussed more specifics, mainly in interviews or investor Q & As. Into early 2012 details were coming out about the new - at the time - Nintendo Network ID, while early buzz around third-party support was strong. It was then confirmed for a late 2012 release, with a major showcase given at E3 that year, in which games and the final form of the GamePad - in particular - were the focus. A late August event then confirmed more games and a launch date / price. While the wait had been longer since it was first seen at E3 2011, the steady march to release kept fans largely 'in the loop'. It was a different approach to that seen with the 3DS, and the hardware was more 'ready' at launch, but the system failed to take off due to a variety of factors.

Back to NX, former company President Satoru Iwata first mentioned it in early 2015 as part of a press conference in which the partnership with DeNA was announced. The reasoning for the mention was made clear - Nintendo had just performed a U-turn to confirm that it was going to invest heavily in mobile apps and games, and was moving to reassure fans that it wasn't stepping away from the hardware market.

As proof that Nintendo maintains strong enthusiasm for the dedicated game system business, let me confirm that Nintendo is currently developing a dedicated game platform with a brand-new concept under the development codename "NX." It is too early to elaborate on the details of this project, but we hope to share more information with you next year.

That was entirely understandable, and importantly the messaging was specific; for context, the Wii U was barely 2.5 years old at this point, so Nintendo was confirming it as something for the future to ease worries around the shift towards mobile. The problem, though, was that Wii U was in dire straights, so even though 3DS was selling well the home console was already struggling for momentum. For a system with dwindling sales and a declining output of games, it was an early dismissal; a 'successor' - as many instinctively saw it - was on the cards already.

Breath of the Wild was the focus at E3 2016, on Wii U

Breath of the Wild was the focus at E3 2016, on Wii U

The problem in 2016 has been the lack of communication from Nintendo - that secrecy we referenced earlier on. In the first half of this year, as 3DS sales declined and the Wii U continued its grim run, an assumption was made that Nintendo would go big on the system at E3. Instead, initial announced plans were underwhelming in the extreme, with one day dedicated to what we now know as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Wii U, with a short statement saying the NX (and its version of that very game) would not feature. Eventually Nintendo added more Treehouse demonstration sessions to its live streams from E3, though the new system was absent as expected.

From that point to now Nintendo has given no real indication of when we'll see NX, only confirming in its annual report that it's still aiming to release it in March 2017. The fear, of course, is that silence means a delay is coming, while the optimist's view is what we've mentioned before - a switch in tactics. Either way, Nintendo has left a vacuum with no information. The outcome, of course, are 'leaks', rumours and shenanigans online.

Reports with particular meat came in July 2016, which are often referenced as the Eurogamer rumours. For our part we've covered those and others where we've trusted the source and/or been able to cross-check details with others, though naturally even leaks that seem solid may be from out-dated demo kits, or have misunderstandings thrown in. There have been lots of rumours we've ignored, however, because we can't find backup details to reinforce them. I've seen 'NX is getting announced tomorrow / this week as a surprise' rumours so many times in the past month that it's like being in an episode of Quantum Leap. Again, it's entertaining, frustrating and baffling all at once.

Officially, details are slim. There are positive comments from the likes of Ubisoft, The Pokémon Company saying "the NX is trying to change the concept of what it means to be a home console device or a hand-held device", and a handful of confirmed games such as Breath of the Wild, a 2017 'main' Sonic release and Just Dance 2017. We know it'll play major games and have buttons, then.

It's all an odd state of affairs considering the fact Nintendo will be fully aware of the frustration among some of its followers. Yet wait we must, hoping that it's all part of a brilliant plan to get everyone excited ahead of a release in around five months time. If the long silence and mystery is finally broken by an announcement of a delay, there'll be no defending Nintendo from the fury of its fans.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 release date, news & update: Top-class specs to wow during mid-2017 release

There are talks that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 may be launching mid-2017 as the South Korean tech giant has already applied for certification before the FCC and fans expect the device to sport some revolutionary specs and features. Samsung has however remained tight-lipped on the device's release date and price.

A leaked design of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 was shared by a Twitter user Evan Blass and the third generation galaxy tab did not appear to be much different than the Galaxy Tab S2. The leaked image however suggested a 16:10 aspect ratio and not a 4:3. This may not sit well with those favouring a squarer tablet, writes NEUROGADGET.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 may wither be powered by an Exynos 8890 octa-core chipset or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. The Qualcomm processor will provide users with enhanced performance. An impressive 4GB RAM is expected for the 32GB and 64GB Internal storage variants.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 may also be released in two screen sizes, 8-inch and 9.7-inch. Both will have an AMOLED Display with 4K resolution. Camera specs are not clear but tech experts believe an 8MP rear and 2MP front camera could be incorporated into the Galaxy Tab S3. The USB Type-C port will be similar to that of the Galaxy Note 7.

The 8-inch variant could have a battery capacity of 4,000 mAh where as the 9.7-inch version could sport a powerful 5,870 mAh battery with 14.2 hours screen-on-time, writes Mobile & Apps. The Galaxy Tab S3 will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system with a planned upgrade to the Android 7.0 Nougat.

There has been no information as to the price of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 though some believe it will be price at around US$420 (AU$550 approx).

Stay tuned on IBT AU for more updates on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3.

GOOGLE NEXUS 7 2016 RELEASE DATE, SPECS: NEXUS BRAND STILL ALIVE, NEW TABLET TO BE POWERED BY ANDROMEDA OS?

#Nexus7 #AndromedaOS – Google Nexus 7 2016 release date, specs: Nexus brand still alive, new tablet to be powered by Andromeda OS? : Despite several reports that the upcoming models for Google Nexus will be launched under a new moniker, the Pixel series, some tech enthusiasts believe that the Nexus brand is not dead yet.

According to BGR, the company may still release many devices from the said brand in the near future, showcasing a few exciting surprises. Apparently, similar to previous collaborations, Huawei is said to be working on a Nexus 7 tablet that will be equipped with Andromeda out of the box.

The touted operating system is deemed to be the hybrid of Android integrated with Chrome features. There is also hearsay that Andromeda may be unveiled on Oct. 4, marking a significant milestone for Android.

What may have added to the assumption that Google is working on the new device is renowned tipster Evan Blass' tweet earlier last month stating, "Google's Huawei-built 7-inch tablet, with 4 GB RAM [random access memory], on track for release before the end of the year." However, since there is no official confirmation from the manufacturers yet, available information should be taken with a grain of salt.

Meanwhile, when it comes to the Pixel smartphones, rumors are rife that the HTC-made gadgets initially codenamed as Sailfish and Marlin will launch as Pixel and Pixel XL, respectively.

The Pixel smartphone is expected to come with a 5-inch full high-definition (HD) display, 3 GB of RAM and a 2,770 mAh battery. Meanwhile, the Pixel XL has a slightly bigger 5.5-inch quad HD screen along with a quad-core processor, the Adreno 530 graphics processing unit (GPU), 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.

Both devices are expected to come with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820, a 12-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front-facing lens and will have a support for Android 7.1 Nougat preinstalled. Their prices will start at $350 and may go up to $500 which some believe is justified due to the high-end specifications. They may also be launched in Google's upcoming October event alongside the touted Andromeda OS. Source: Vinereport

Google To Release Its New Set Of Smartphones Tomorrow, October 4th

Google To Release Its New Set Of Smartphones Tomorrow - October 4th by ssolaoye: 6:01am Google is set to announce Pixel and Pixel XL, its pure Android-based smartphones on October 4. Yes, the smartphones won't be called Nexus this time and Google is adopting the Pixel branding used earlier with its Chromebook and Android tablet. With Pixel branding, Google is also emphasising on the future of 'Made By Google' devices.

The new Google smartphones will be made by HTC but don't be surprised if there is no or little mention of HTC. Rumours have pointed out the search giant is more serious about its say in the design of future devices, which maybe built by Google directly. Google's Pixel branded phones won't be the first Android 7.0 Nougat devices, but will be the first to support Google's DayDream VR platform.

iPad Mini 5 Release Date: Apple Tablet to Come With Specs Similar to iPhone 7

#iPadMini5 #Tablet – iPad Mini 5 Release Date: Apple Tablet to Come With Specs Similar to iPhone 7 : Tech fans have already shifted their focus on other Apple hardware products after the release of the new generation iPhone last month.

Tech observers were disappointed when the Cupertino-company decided to skip several devices during its Sept. 7 event including the upcoming iPad Mini 5. According to reports, the new tablet will be launched in March 2017.

Although Apple has yet to provide concrete details with regard to the development and release of the upcoming iPad Mini 5, several reports suggest that the delay of its launching is caused by the company's decision to use the A10 processor instead of the current A9 chipset.

There are speculations saying that the tablet will come out with impressive features and specs under the hood similar to that of the new iPhone 7. The powerful processor is also expected to be paired with 2 GB of RAM. If rumors prove to be true, the possibility that Apple might bring a 3D Touch pressure-sensitive display to the new iPad Mini 5 is pretty high.

The amazing feature can be experienced using the recently released iPhone 7. Other features to be added on the tablet include a brand new audio port as Apple will drop the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack. It will also upgrade its Home button to a touch-sensitive switch, making the new iPad Mini 5 the best in its class.

Meanwhile, Apple is said to retain its camera feature for the new iPad Mini 5. Its primary camera will get an 8 MP resolution, while the front-facing snapper will be at 1.2 MP. The tablet is also expected to come with an amazing battery technology at 5124 mAh. The efficiency of its new processor will also help provide longer battery life.

According to reports, the iPad Mini 5 might arrive on the shelves with a starting price of US$450. Stay tuned for more news and updates about the upcoming tablet. Source: gamenguide
