A very thin E Ink tablet has been unveiled by Sony. The new DPT-RP1 model has a $700 price tag and it represents a pretty substantial upgrade over Sony's 13.3-inch Digital Paper tablet from 2014.
Its resolution has increased from 1200 x 1600 dots to 1650 x 2200 dots. The new model is also thinner and lighter.
Like the prior Digital Paper, the DPT-RP1 is still limited to reading PDF files. Using the included Digital Paper App for desktops, websites and documents can be converted into PDF form and sent wirelessly to the tablet for writing.
Sony will release the device in Japan on June 5.
