Microsoft Surface Pro 5: Specs, Rumors, Release Date

Microsoft Corporation is rumored to launch the Surface Pro 5 with many improvements in 2017. The Surface Pro 5, the successor to Surface Pro 4, will have a 512 GB of internal storage, versus 256 GB in the Surface Pro 4. The 2-in-1 device will come with a much improved battery performance.

Rumors suggest that the Redmond-based software giant will release the Surface Pro 5 in January. The company is said to be waiting for the launch of Intel's next generation core processor, the Kaby Lake.

The Kaby Lake processor uses less power and in addition to improving performance, it will also have a significant impact on the better. Some reports suggest that the Surface Pro 5 will be a strong competitor of Apple's iPad Pro 2 and MacBook Pro 2016.

The Surface Pro 5 is said to feature the Kaby Lake processor, which Intel is expected to ship this month. The 2-in-1 device will feature 16 GB of RAM and the Windows 10 Redstone 2 operating system.

It has been speculated that the Surface Pro 5 will have two models featuring different display technology. The low-end model will provide full 2K support, with the high-end version will offering 4K support.

Microsoft Corporation is rumored to be making improvements to the new Surface Pen. The pen will feature a rechargeable battery and will have ability to charge itself when attached to the tablet, according to the recent rumors.
