For Android 7.0 Nougat - Nexus 5 Users Look Past Google

There's also no confirmation of whether the phone will land on Three, but it's likely to and with a launch in early September it will probably arrive before nearly any phone gets the Nougat update. The new update will keep devices more secure with File-based encryption, Direct Boot and seamless updates.

However, some users still speculate that those Nexus devices (codenamed Marlin and Sailfish) are in the works and that they will be launched soon, before the release of the new iPhone 7 series in September.

The list of Sony devices that will receive latest Android build includes Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra and Xperia X Performance. However, it mentioned that "rollouts are a phased process - timing and availability will vary by market and/or operator".

Many smartphone companies are set to announce which of their devices will be having the Android N update.

The announcement follows the arrival of Android Nougat on Nexus devices, which happened a couple of days ago on August 23rd. The first to get the update will be the HTC 10, with the HTC One M9 and HTC A9 following shortly after. But for now, Nexus owners can expect to get OTA updates to Android 7.0 Nougat, as well as users of Android One and Pixel C devices. However, it is a relatively slow rollout.

Android Nougat has finally launched, and it brings a huge number of benefits, including the ability to run two apps side-by-side in multi-window mode, reply to notifications directly without leaving the screen you're on, and take advantage of improved quick settings. This feature puts the phone or tablet to sleep when it is not in use, but in Android 7.0 Nougat the feature has been updated to "Doze on the Go" which saves battery even while the phone is mobile, whenever the display is switched off.
