Xiaomi recently unveiled the Mi Max in India along with the global roll out of its MIUI 8 UI. The Mi Max is Xiaomi's largest screen phablet until now. The Chinese tech giant also announced the Mi Community in India. With the launch of the MIUI 8, we expect cool new features to come aboard. The new Xiaomi UI will be up for download from August 16.
The global version of the MIUI 8 comes with an enhanced notification drawer, which also has a weather panel that changes color and animation as per the weather conditions. Also, Xiaomi has integrated the color changing status and animations for other apps across the MIUI 8. The new OS version by Xiaomi has a smarter outlook with scrolling screenshot feature that combines different images of the screenshot. There is also a Quick Ball feature that places a circle adorned with quick shortcuts on the side of the display. The shortcuts on the circle are back switch, app switcher, or customizable shortcuts to apps.
MIUI 8 also features additional support for Dual Apps and Dual Spaces. Dual Apps function also allows duplicate apps on the same device, for example – User can have two WhatsApp accounts on one dual-SIM phone for each SIM card. A useful feature for users with multiple accounts. The Dual Space app enables users to have two different user accounts on the same device. Each account works as a separate user account (like on the computer) with own set of applications, apps, gallery, passcode, and much more. This feature can come handy for users who use the same Mi device. There is also an inbuilt Caller ID feature onboard.
The MIUI 8's public beta will roll out on July 11, while the stable public version of the MIUI 8 will release on August 16. The Xiaomi devices slated to receive the update are Redmi 1s, Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi Note, Redmi Note Prime, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 3, Mi 2, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4i, Mi Note, Mi 5, and Mi Max
