Police on Sunday released the identity of a man found dead early Saturday morning inside a north Columbia apartment building.
The man was identified as 25-year-old Edmond "Ricky" Randolph Jr. of Columbia, police spokeswoman Bryana Larimer said in a news release. Police did not provide additional details other than reaffirming they believed Randolph's death had been a homicide.

Officers responded to an apartment building in the 2900 block of Leeway Drive near Brown Station Road at about 6:48 a.m. Saturday after a 911 caller reported a man in cardiac arrest. Crews arrived at the apartment to find Randolph dead.
Larimer did not disclose the cause of Randolph's death or say how officers determined it had been a homicide.
