Brantford police took a city woman into custody after a tablet computer was stolen.
Community patrol officers were called after a male victim was informed that a woman had stolen his tablet on June 23, then she went to a downtown pawn shop to pawn it for money, police said in a news release.
After learning about the theft from a friend on Monday, the victim went to the pawn shop himself and found his tablet. Then he called police.
After an investigation, police arrested a 28-year-old Brantford woman and charged her with theft.
She was held for a bail hearing.
