Google Nexus 7 2016 Release Date Rumors Later This Year With Two Variants

Google's Nexus program has certainly created some excellent gadgets over the past several years. From phones to tables, the program has certainly added some exciting stuff to the tech marketplace. While it is usually the Google Nexus phones which grab the headlines, Google Nexus 7 2016 has gotten a lot of attention as it is rumored that there will be two variants of the popular tablet.

According to a report from Neurogadget, Google is planning to release the Nexus 7 in a 7-inch screen variant along with a smaller 5-inch screen variant. The cost of the Google Nexus 7 could be between $229 and $269, with the 7-inch version of course costing more than the 5-inch model. Both are rumored to run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 processor and will be powered by 4GB of RAM.

Based on a report from Christian Daily, other expected features of the device are its expandable storage thanks to a microSD card as well as it running on Android N. It is worth noting though that Android N is still on the third version of the developer preview. There have been some news and rumors that the delay with the Google Nexus 7 could potentially be because the tech giant wants to wait until Android N is up and running.
