We're expecting to see the new Galaxy Tab S3 at the Mobile World Congress this February but release in the market could be the following month, if not maybe in summer around July just like past year. Now, it is possible that Samsung intends on releasing next-gen Galaxy Tab S tablets, even though a separate event might be reserved for something like that.
Based on the benchmark listings, it appears the successors to the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 will carry the model numbers SM-T719 and SM-T819 respectively.
During an address at Samsung European Forum 2016 held in Monaco, Head of Samsung Pay Europe, Nathalie Oestmann said that the company's payment services would be "coming to the United Kingdom and Spain very soon this year" and that "more details [will follow] at MWC [Mobile World Congress] in a few weeks time". The two tablets have now popped up on the popular GFXBench and Geekbench benchmark databases, revealing most of their key specifications.
Sure enough, the associated specs that are provided aren't a massive leap from the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 family.
German website Winfuture (via SlashGear) has discovered a couple of mystery devices labelled the SM-T819 and the SM-T719 in recent GFXBench results. In terms of memory, the tablet will sport 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. Powering the tablet will be the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz, with Adreno 510 GPU taking care of graphics. The devices look quite similar to the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, with smoothly curved edges and, once again, a screen with curved edges in the cases of the S7 Edge. Other features include an 8MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and the usual array of sensors. Many of these specs match what the Galaxy Tab S2 had, so it will be interesting to see where Samsung makes improvements.
Junior doctors 'could have legal grounds to challenge new contracts'Welsh health and social services minister Mark Drakeford said England's junior doctors were welcome over the border. Under a new contract, premium time would cover hours work between 10pm and 7am Monday to Saturday.
